# 2.0.0 — Blocklings: Nostalgia Edition (rework)

Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge 47.1.0+ · Java 17. Mod id unchanged (`blocklings`): existing worlds and blocklings keep loading.

### Fixed
- **World not loading / profile disappearing after taming a dog** (Backported Wolves, Mo' Dogs):
- The mob target list no longer creates an instance of every registered entity (with whatever level loaded last, kept in a static field). It is now built from registry metadata only, so other mods' entity constructors are never run.
- Blocklings never attack another player's tamed animals (dogs, cats, horses... from any mod). New config option `attackOwnedPets` (default `false`).
- A blockling with damaged or conflicting saved data is reset to safe defaults and logged, instead of taking its whole chunk down.
- Removed a static reference to a `Level` that leaked worlds between loads.
- **Oversized saves / packets:** whitelists now store and sync only what differs from their default, instead of one entry per mob/ore/log in the modpack. Old saves are read as before and rewritten compactly. Sync packets are capped.
- **Blocklings deposited the tools they were holding.** Depositing (whitelist and "transfer all") now only touches the backpack slots, never the main-hand or off-hand tool.
- **Whitelist list overflowed the GUI** when it held many items: rows were drawn outside the panel because clipping was switched off for the grid and the inventory picker. They are now clipped to the tab viewport and scroll normally.
- **Container remove "X" was invisible** on hover. It (and the red highlight / X in the whitelist grid, and the picker highlight) was drawn behind the item icon; overlays are now drawn above it.
- **Mods' content not recognised by blockling whitelists:**
- *Pickaxe (ores):* detected blocks in any ore-family tag (`forge:ores/*`, `c:ores/*`, `*_ores`), plus `#blocklings:ores`, plus registry names ending in `_ore` as a fallback.
- *Crops:* now auto-detected (`CropBlock`, `#minecraft:crops`, `#blocklings:crops`). Harvesting and replanting also work for modded crops that use a plain `age` property. Stems are never harvested.
- *Sword (mobs):* mobs are also recognised by spawn category, not only by a registered attribute supplier.
- *Axe:* modded logs are auto-detected with their leaves and saplings inferred by name.
- Container detection no longer depends on a world being loaded (it could cache an empty list forever), and one misbehaving block can no longer break it.
- Block lists (ores, trees, crops, containers) and the mob list are rebuilt whenever tags reload instead of being frozen on first use.
- Unknown whitelist entries (e.g. content from a mod added later) read as "not whitelisted" instead of throwing.

### Added
- **Growth:** blocklings are born small and grow smoothly as they level, up to a height limit (`maxBlocklingHeight`, default 1.6, range 0.6–3.0). `growthEnabled` turns it off. Existing blocklings grow from their current size.
- **Add-on API** (`com.akah.blocklings.api`): events `OreEvent`, `CropEvent`, `TreeEvent`, `ContainerEvent`, `AttackTargetEvent`; a failing add-on is logged and skipped.
- **Data-driven tags:** `blocklings:ores`, `blocklings:not_ores`, `blocklings:logs`, `blocklings:crops`, `blocklings:containers` (blocks) and `blocklings:ignored_targets` (entity types).
- **`/blocklings diagnose`:** reports each loaded blockling's saved size and spawn-packet size (flagging oversized ones) and how many ores, trees, crops, containers and mobs are recognised, broken down by mod.
- Vital Core has a new 16×16 texture and a new recipe (blaze powder + diamond; soul sand is no longer needed).
- GitHub Actions workflow that builds the jar.

### Changed
- Minimum Forge is 47.1.0 (was 47.4.10). Newer `ResourceLocation` factory methods were replaced with 1.20.1-compatible constructors.
- Shorter Spanish/English labels for the whitelist tab and empty-list text so they fit.
- License metadata corrected to GPL-3.0-or-later (the original Blocklings repositories ship GPLv3; the previous "All rights reserved" was the Forge template default).
