Full Brightness (NIGHT VISION)

Night Vision adds a single keybind that pushes your brightness far above the vanilla limit and back down, smoothly, whenever you want it. No potion effect, no server install, no swapping resource packs.

One-key toggle — press N to flip night vision on or off

Smooth fade — gamma eases in and out over a configurable number of ticks (no jarring flash)

Adjustable brightness — from 100% (vanilla cap) all the way to 1600% (true full-bright)

In-game config screen — bind a key to open it, or call it from the mods list

Client-side only — works on every vanilla server, no install needed on the other end

Restores your original gamma when toggled off — never leaves you blinded

Hotbar message shows the current state when toggled (can be disabled)

❓ FAQ

Will I get banned for using this on a server?
Server-side anti-cheats can't see this — it only changes how light is rendered on your screen. That said, follow your server's rules; some explicitly ban full-bright mods.

Does it work with shader packs?
Sometimes. Shader packs replace the vanilla lightmap pipeline, so the gamma override may be ignored or look different. Built-in resource pack shaders are unaffected.

Can I rebind the toggle key?
Yes — vanilla Options → Controls → Key Binds → Night Vision. Same place as every other keybind.

Can I add this to my modpack?
Yes.
