Heavier Weapons

Adds hitstop to BetterCombat, a brief animation freeze when your attack connects, making hits feel heavier and more impactful.

Features

  • Hitstop: Attack animation pauses for a few frames on hit
  • Camera shake:  Subtle screen shake on impact
  • Entity freeze:  Hit entities briefly freeze in place
  • Per-weapon duration:  Heavy weapons like claymores and hammers hitstop longer than daggers and rapiers
  • Crit bonus: Critical hits add extra hitstop duration
  • Fully configurable:  Customize duration per weapon category, camera shake intensity, delays, and toggle everything on/off

Compatibility

Config

All settings are in the common config file. Weapon categories map to hitstop durations in ticks (1 tick = 50ms):

Weight Examples Default
Light dagger, fist, claw 0 (crit only)
Medium sword, katana, spear 2 ticks
Heavy axe, mace, glaive 3 ticks
Ultra claymore, hammer, anchor 4-5 ticks
Crit bonus all weapons +2 ticks
