Better Blending 0.2.0 — NeoForge 1.21.1
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
0.2.0 — Renderer and shader-pack support
- Added terrain blending with Sodium 0.6.13 on Fabric and NeoForge.
- Added terrain blending with Embeddium 1.0.15 on NeoForge.
- Added blending inside active Iris shader packs, using the same terrain blending algorithm while preserving the pack's lighting, fog and shadows.
- Kept blending working when shader packs are toggled on or off.
- Shared terrain materials and visible-section data with supported renderers, including exposed floors, walls and ceilings.
- Verified both loader builds, 15 tests including GPU comparisons, and live shader-pack checks with Complementary Reimagined r5.9.1.
Installation
- Minecraft 1.21.1, Java 21; client-side only.
- Fabric: requires Fabric Loader 0.19.3 or newer and Fabric API. Cloth Config 15 and Mod Menu 11 are optional for the settings screen. Sodium and Iris are optional.
- NeoForge: requires NeoForge 21.1.238 or newer. Cloth Config 15 is optional for the settings screen. Sodium, Embeddium and Iris are optional; choose one terrain renderer, and use Sodium with Iris.
Compatibility notes
Sodium, Embeddium and Iris are supported in the configurations above. Iris versions checked: 1.8.8 on Fabric and 1.8.12 on NeoForge. Shader packs using geometry/tessellation terrain stages or unusual atlas sampling may need additional support. Pack normal/specular maps remain unchanged.
