When downloading, please make sure to go to the Files tab, and download the version for your modloader. The files have "fabric" or "forge" in their name. Curseforge doesn't always show the correct versions on the main page.
Use this mod with 1.16 and Fabric right now!
To do this, you'll need to:
- install the Fabric modloader from https://fabricmc.net/use/
- install the Fabric API from https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/fabric-api/files
- install ModMenu from https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/modmenu/files (this is not absolutely neccesary, but strongly recommended)
- install this mod
Installing a mod is as easy as dropping it into your mod folder. If you don't know how to do that, open Minecraft, go to Options/Resource packs, click the "Open Pack Folder" button, then navigate one level up and down to mods.
Download the jar file, make sure to select the one that says "1.16".
Drop the downloaded jar file there.
Minecraft keeps honey level and bee information when you break a hive/nest, but there's no way for players to get at this information.
This mod adds both in the item tooltip
So when you're moving a nest, you can see if there's enough bees in it to start breeding at the destination, and on servers with an economy, sellers and buyers can check if the "contains 3 bees" claim is true.
I would have liked to add information about placed nests and hives as well, but unfortunately, the server only sends honey information to the client (which can be seen in F3), but the client doesn't know about the bee count. Adding something to the server kind of defeats the purpose as the mod is intended to work with vanilla servers.
If you like bees, read up about protecting them at https://beyondpesticides.org/programs/bee-protective-pollinators-and-pesticides/bee-protective !
