Batty's Coordinates PLUS! Mod for Forge
Batty's Coordinates PLUS! Mod for Forge
NOTE: This mod runs with Minecraft Forge.
If you want a version that runs without Forge, see this page.
Combines Batty's Coordinates & Stopwatch Timer
Batty's Coordinates
The X, Y and Z coordinates that locate the player's position in the world are normally displayed on the F3 Debug screen.
This mod has a number of display modes that present this information, and more, discreetly in a corner of the main game screen, so you don't have to leave F3 open to see them.
In Mode 0 the Coordinates are hidden.
Mode 1 shows the X, Y and Z coordinates, and it also indicates the direction that you are facing, in compass-direction terms.
Mode 2 adds an indication whether your X and Z coordinates will Increase or Decrease if you move in the direction you are facing.
Mode 3 also shows the Biome that you are currently in, displayed below the coordinates.
Mode 4 adds the Minecraft Day counter, shown as 'dy'.
Mode 5 replaces the normal X, Y and Z coordinates with Chunk information:
This shows which Chunk you are in, and which Block within that Chunk
The display appears with the Chunk being denoted by a 'c' and the Block by a 'b', for example:
- means:
- X = Block 9 within Chunk -10
- Z = Block 0 within Chunk 2
Batty's Stopwatch Timer
A discreet timer tucked away in a corner of the screen, that you can hide, reappear, stop, start and zero using key presses.
Can be used to time activities in-game. Useful for speed challenges.
Shows the time passed in hours, minutes and seconds.
Colour-coded so you know at a glance if it is stopped or running.
Info Panel
This display will show either the FPS, the Block Light-level or the Moon phase. You can switch between these at the press of a button.
FPS Display
The Frames per Second that the game is running at is displayed in a corner of the screen.
Block Light-level
The block light (i.e. artificial light reaching this block) of the block the player is standing on is displayed
Moon phase
An icon, showing the current phase of the moon, is displayed.

Custom Colours
Important
From versions 1.11.2_003 through to 1.15.2-0.1.0, Batty's Coordinates PLUS Mod for Forge used the Forge configuration system, allowing the colours to be customised by going to the Mod Options screen in-game. For these versions the BatMod.properties - described below - was not used.
The Mod Options settings are stored in a Forge configurations file in the /config folder. This file is called coordinatesplusmod.cfg.
[N.B. in 1.14 this filename has changed again. It is now coordinatesplusmod-client.toml]
From version 1.16.1_0.2.0 configuration has reverted to the BatMod.properties as described below.
You can customise the colours in which Batty's Coordinates and Timer appear on the screen.
This done by creating a small file called BatMod.properties in your .minecraft folder.
If this file is not present, the displays all appear in the default colours.
The following lines are permitted in the file:
- Coords.shade = <true or false>
- Coords.chars.Increase = <any character>
- Coords.chars.Decrease = <any character>
- Coords.colours.TitleText = <colour from the list>
- Coords.colours.PosCoordText = <colour from the list>
- Coords.colours.NegCoordText = <colour from the list>
- Coords.colours.PosChunkText = <colour from the list>
- Coords.colours.NegChunkText = <colour from the list>
- Coords.colours.CoordText = <colour from the list>
- Coords.colours.CompassText = <colour from the list>
- Coords.colours.ChevronText = <colour from the list>
- Coords.colours.BiomeText = <colour from the list>
- Coords.copy.tpFormat = <true or false>
- Timer.shade = <true or false>
- Timer.colours.Stopped = <colour from the list>
- Timer.colours.Running = <colour from the list>
- Info.shade = <true or false>
- Info.colours.FPS = <colour from the list>
- Info.colours.Bright = <colour from the list>
- Info.colours.Dim = <colour from the list>
- Info.colours.Moon = <colour from the list>
NOTE 1: PosCoordText and NegCoordText can be used to distinguish positive and negative coordinates from each other by giving them different colours
NOTE 2: You can still use CoordText, and this will override anything you put in PosCoordText and NegCoordText
NOTE 3: You can choose the character that indicates whether your coordinates are increasing or decreasing in the X or Z directions. By default these are '+' and '-', but by use of Coords.chars.Increase or .Decrease you can substitute another character.
NOTE 4: You can choose the colours that the Chunk Coordinates display, positive and negative
NOTE 5: You can decide to copy the Coordinates to your clipboard in standard format "x=999, y=99, z=999" or in /tp command format "999 99 999" by the Coords.copy.tpFormat parameter. Setting this to true will make it use the /tp command format.
NOTE 6: Info.colours.Dim chooses the colour that light-levels of 7 and below will display, while Info.colours.Bright chooses the colour that light-level of 8 and above will display.
The full list of recognised colours:
(*Note* that you must type all of the entries exactly as they appear here - capitals and lowercase - or they will be ignored and the default colours will be used by the game)

Hello! I had a question, to change to colors would I have to make a properties file, or just name it BatMod.properties? Right now I have it as a text document. Also, would I have to have all the lines in the file, for ex, can I leave the info ones out? Thank you!
Great coord mod! One thing: I'd like to use this in a modpack, do I have permssion?
In reply to a_guy64:
You may use it, but could you please credit me, and link to this site where it can be downloaded. (This allows anyone who has a problem to know where to go for help)
In reply to BatHeart:
Thank you!
(solved on my own, ignore this comment)
Hello!
I am trying to use your mods version 1.12.0 on forge 1.12.2, but it will no appear on the screen? Call me stupid if it was obvious, I have been fiddling with all sorts of keybinds to get it to work, to no avail! Please help
I need help!
Can anyone please tell me how to switch modes on my 13 inch MacBook Pro that doesn't have numeric keyboard. It doesn't show any coordinates buck ints in mode 0 and I struggle to switch modes. Please help.
In reply to lucian_vk:
This is a question that has been asked and answered so many times, I need to find a way to pin the answer, or make a FAQ section.
Basically, use Minecraft Options -> Controls to change the key to something else that you do have on your keyboard. You will find the Batty's Mod controls at the bottom of the list.

In reply to BatHeart:
Where? I can’t find them. maybe I don't know where Minecraft options are. ok so I think they are a page on the menu on the lower middle-left point of the menu and it says options... and then you go to controls... under music and sound and above chat settings is that it or am I missing something else cuz in that page there is no batty mod controls anywhere on the list and I made sure I have already selected the mod. Is it important where on the list it is like does it needs to be on top or is it not important I don't understand if you don't have any other solutions do you have time to walk me through the process on discord maybe
In reply to lucian_vk:
Menu Options and the Controls, Yes. Scroll down to the bottom of the list of controls and you will see the Batty's Mod controls. If You have actually got Batty's Mod loaded in Forge, then the Batty's Mod controls will be in the list. There are 9 of them, and they are under headings "Batty's Coordinates" Batty's Info" and "Batty's Timer"
I've just checked to make sure it's still working in 1.16.4 and yes, everything is fine.
In reply to BatHeart:
what is forge and where do I get it or whatever
In reply to lucian_vk:
Sorry. My job here is not to baby-sit. You have to know these things in order to use any of the mods.
Come back when you know how to install and configure mods, and we'll see if you still have a problem with this. It's very basic stuff.
I need help specifically changing the color of the (+/++) and (-/--) when looking in certain directions. I have tried every line mentioned in the explanation and none of them changed it. In the video linked I saw that they had changed it and even after copying their config exactly mine still didn't change. All of the other colours changed, but not the increase and decrease signs. I tried changing the text on them as well and that works fine so I don't know what to do.
In reply to FlyteLP:
I am so sorry, FlyteLP! The option you are looking for seems to be missing from the description. It has probably always been missing!
Try this:
Coords.colours.ChevronText = <colour from the list>
I will get the description updated very soon.
Thanks for pointing it out.

In reply to BatHeart:
Thank you so much. It's amazing how fast you replied. Worked perfectly and was exactly what I was looking for <3
How do you switch between modes if you have a 60% mechanical keyboard where it doesn't have numpad keys or NumLock key?
In reply to Ketriel:
Hi Ketriel
This has been asked a few times before - mainly by people on Mac, or small laptops where there is no numpad. The answer is that you can remap the keys to anything that you want, in the Options -> Controls menu. Scroll down to the end and you will find the various "Batty's" keys defined, with brief descriptions of what each key does.

Hello! Don't know where to post issues, so posting here. When I start server with Batty's Coordinates PLUS Mod, it crashes. Crash report here: https://hatebin.com/ovtnynnpcq
My system:
OS: OSX Yosemite 10.10
Minecraft Version: 1.16.4
Mod Version: 0.1.0
Forge Version: 1.16.4-35.1.13
In reply to WhiteBear60:
Sorry, WhiteBear60, but it's a Client-side mod. It doesn't work on servers. It never has done. It wasn't written that way.
In reply to BatHeart:
I thought about that. Thank you
Hey, how can I see the block light level with your mod? I don't understand how it works.
Have a good day!
