What's the difference between Niter and Saltpeter? They're both oredicted to one another and both are the same real-world substance so I'm confused why this has separate ores for both.

Basically, nothing. There is a difference in how and where they form in nature, but they are, technically, the same chemical. We provide both so that people have a choice over which they want to show up.
When I run this mod (Base Minerals - 2.5.0-rc2.69) with Applied Energistics 2 - rv6-stable-7, Base Metals - 2.5.0-rc2.332, and Constructs Armory - 1.2.4 along side they're dependencies only I get this crash report https://paste.dimdev.org/abiwuyuwik.mccrash. For some reason disabling any of these four mods allows the game to load normally without it crashing. I'm also running vanilla fix but I get the same crash report without it.

This is a known issue - it has been reported for Base Metals and applies across the entire series of mods that depend on MMDLib. It seems that in all of our testing we were luck that Constructs Armory loaded prior to any of our mods and did not trigger this bug. A fix is slated for -rc3

Is there an eta for -rc3? Not rushing just curious. I'd really like to have base minerals in my game. It's nice being able to have for example one sulfur or salt item for other mods to use that fits the same aesthetic as all the other ores.
I finished the most visible parts of a job last night and just have the hard parts to get through now - paying work takes priority over hobbies, sadly. Hopefully I'll have the time free in August to get to working on the bugs that we know about.
Known bug, and it's actually MMDLib that crashes, not Base Minerals. A fix is in the works and will be available in -rc3.
could you add a version supporting Base Metals version 1.8.0 pls

they are all ore-dicted, so the "Salt" is compatible with Mekanism, the Potash/Niter/Saltpeter is compatible with Thermal Expansion, etc...
