Avaritia Expanded

An Avaritia addon for Minecraft 1.7.10 that fixes and tunes its endgame gear through 19 configurable options.

Description

This mod is an addon for Avaritia on Minecraft 1.7.10. It adds no new content of its own—no items or blocks. It only improves upon some existing issues in Avaritia (as well as some clearly unreasonable design choices), and provides 19 configurable options.

WARNING: BACK UP YOUR SAVE BEFORE INSTALLING. This mod changes weapon damage, arrow behaviour, item drops and armor abilities. It has been tested, but any mod can cause loss - a backup is the cheapest insurance.

NOTE: **Avaritia is required.** This mod is a patch on Avaritia's own items plus a handful of vanilla methods, so without Avaritia there is nothing for it to act on.

Requirements

Minecraft 1.7.10 + Forge 10.13.4.1614

**Avaritia** ( 1.13 or GTNH 1.100 )

**UniMixins** ( 0.2.1 or newer )

this mod uses Mixins, but the jar does not bundle the Mixin framework. Without UniMixins the game will fail to launch - and you will see NO error message: the game window simply never appears (the crash happens in the launchwrapper phase, before Forge's mod loading, so no "missing dependency" prompt is shown). Please double-check that UniMixins is in your mods/ folder.

Features

Skullfire Sword:

  • Durability never decreases.
  • Base attack damage 7 -> 15 (Avaritia hardcodes the same 7 as a diamond sword). Optionally sets the target on fire for 10 seconds.
  • The fire is off by default: an Enderman that catches fire teleports non-stop until it burns out or dies, which makes the sword worse than useless against them. The fire duration stacks with Fire Aspect by taking the larger value, so having both costs you nothing.

Sword of the Cosmos:

  • The Sword of the Cosmos can now one-hit kill a newly spawned Wither while it is still in its preparation phase, along with some mobs that should logically have been one-hit killed but weren't. The Sword of the Cosmos' instant-kill capability itself has not been buffed. Also, If you come across any modded mobs that the Sword of the Cosmos still cannot kill in one hit, don't ask me to keep buffing it until it can—I'm not interested. (If you want that, why not try making your own mod to implement it?)
  • Attack reach: adds 3 blocks on top of your vanilla reach, so 6 blocks in survival and 9 in creative by default. 0 - 10; 0 = disables the extra attack reach.
  • Sphere damage (off by default): a radius around the impact point (0 - 8 blocks). With "sweep all" on (the default), every mob inside the sphere dies; with it off, only the one closest to your crosshair dies. Ender Crystals caught in the sphere are destroyed as well.
  • Mana burst beam (requires Botania): swinging the sword fires a Terra Blade style mana burst that instantly kills the first mob it touches and pops any Ender Crystal in its path. The Ender Dragon is handled separately, because its body is invulnerable - the beam damages the head hitbox instead. Range 156 blocks by default (13 - 390; the Terra Blade's beam is 91), minimum interval 2 ticks, colour blue / rainbow / off / any hex value, and an on/off switch for the firing sound. Firing needs one of these in your inventory: Asgardandelion, Creative Mana Tablet, or The Everlasting Guilty Pool. Creative mode lifts that requirement. Hold Shift while hovering the sword to see what it needs.

Longbow of the Heavens:

  • Arrow damage value 60 -> 777. The hit damage is the arrow's speed multiplied by this value, so a full draw hits far harder than the raw number suggests.
  • Arrow launch speed x2.0 -> x7.0. Rapid fire interval 13 -> 7 ticks. arrow rain in 35 -> 49 arrows.
  • The arrow rain now also triggers when the arrow hits a mob, not only when it hits a block. Each rain arrow checks the space above the impact point and spawns just under the ceiling, so the bow works indoors instead of dropping the whole volley on your roof; outdoors the arrows still come down from 25 blocks up. Rain arrows carry the same damage value and are all critical hits.
  • The bow's arrows deal damage to Endermen without triggering their teleportation, and they bypass the Wither's Wither Armor to damage it directly.

Endest Pearl:

  • Using the Endest Pearl no longer damages terrain.
  • set 01_endestPearlGriefing to true to restore the destructive behaviour. The GTNH builds have their own option for the same thing, and both must allow it before anything breaks.

Immortal Item drops:

  • The Immortal Item trait means a dropped item cannot be destroyed (lava, fire, explosions, cactus), never despawns, and can be picked up in one second instead of two.
  • Avaritia only gives this trait to part of its Infinity line. This mod adds it to the items that clearly should have it but do not: Akashic Records, Asgardandelion, floating Asgardandelion, Blood Orb of Armok, Crystal Studded Cosmic Neutronium Wand, Infinitato, Infinity Block, Matter Cluster, and the Longbow of the Heavens.
  • You can add any other item yourself through the config list (format modid:name[:meta], case-insensitive). By default that list contains Extremely Primordial Pearl.
  • All immortal drops - Avaritia's own ones included - are re-created as this mod's own entity. That also fixes an old Avaritia bug where an immortal drop could disappear on the client while still lying on the ground on the server.
  • Drops with the trait render the Ender Dragon death burst around them: ten beams (five on fast graphics) that grow over the first half second and slowly rotate. Rainbow by default, or a fixed hex colour, or off. Purely cosmetic.

Immortal blocks:

  • Infinitato, Asgardandelion and its floating version survive explosions - TNT used to delete the Infinitato outright, with no drop.
  • Other Botania flowers are not affected.

Infinity Helmet - Night Vision:

  • The original 1.13 build gives the helmet no night vision at all. This mod adds permanent Night Vision while the helmet is worn, and Shift + Right-Click while holding the helmet toggles it.
  • The tooltip and a chat message show the current state. No config editing, no restart.
  • The Night Vision effect is refreshed every tick with a 21-second duration so it never flickers.
  • On the GTNH builds the helmet already has night vision, and the toggle still works there - it is applied by intercepting the armor's own potion effect. However, if GTNH's Draconic Evolution is installed, this mod does not interfere and hides the Night Vision toggle; use Draconic Evolution's Tool & Armor Config GUI key option to control Night Vision on/off.

Infinity Boots - High Jump:

  • Avaritia's boots add a flat bonus to every jump. This adds an in-game toggle: Shift + Right-Click while holding the boots. Off means your jump height is exactly vanilla again.
  • The tooltip and a chat message show the current state. No config editing, no restart.

Item name colours:

  • Avaritia defines its own "cosmic" rarity (red), but only the armor, the sword, the tools, the Skullfire Sword and some materials override getRarity - the rest fall back to plain white. This mod assigns the missing ones:
  • Red (cosmic): Infinity Block, Infinitato, Akashic Records, Longbow of the Heavens, Asgardandelion
  • Blue (rare): Cosmic Neutronium Block, Crystal Matrix, Ultimate Stew, Cosmic Meatballs
  • Magenta (epic): Dire Crafting Table, Neutron Collector, Neutronium Compressor
  • Yellow (uncommon): Record Fragment
  • Untouched: the compressed crafting tables stay white on purpose.
  • The Thaumcraft Crystal Studded Cosmic Neutronium Wand is red instead of yellow.
  • Tooltip borders in mods such as WorldTooltips - Continuation follow the same colour.

Compatibility

Botania :

  • Optional. Provides the Sword of the Cosmos mana burst beam, and gives the Asgardandelion (and its floating version) the red name colour, the Immortal Item trait and explosion immunity.
  • Without Botania the sword simply does not fire a beam and nothing else changes.

Thaumcraft :

  • Optional. Colours the Crystal Studded Cosmic Neutronium Wand red and gives it the Immortal Item trait, and gives Akashic Records the trait too.
  • Without Thaumcraft those entries are skipped with a single info line in the log.

Draconic Evolution (GTNH version) :

  • Optional, and only relevant on the GTNH Avaritia builds. Avaritia 1.100 is compiled against the GTNH fork of DE. The original DE 1.0.2h has a package name typo, so the two are binary-incompatible: Avaritia fails to load its Infinity tools and the game crashes on startup with NoClassDefFoundError. That is a mismatch between Avaritia and DE, not something this mod causes.
  • if you use the GTNH Avaritia, use the GTNH DE.

Blood Magic :

  • Optional. The Blood Orb of Armok gets the Immortal Item trait only when Blood Magic is installed.
  • Without Blood Magic those entries are skipped with a single info line in the log.

FTB Infinity Evolved (modpack)

Disclaimer

This mod was originally built for the author's own private modpack.

Compatibility-wise it has been tested on Avaritia 1.13 and the GTNH 1.100 builds, inside the modpack described above. Beyond that, no compatibility is guaranteed with other modpacks or with mods that have not been tested alongside it - if something breaks, troubleshooting is on you, and the author is not liable for corrupted saves or data loss.

The mod only patches the specific Avaritia and vanilla classes it needs to, so the surface for conflicts is small in theory

but that is not a guarantee.

If you run into compatibility issues, feel free to report them in the comments

but there is no guarantee of an update or a fix.
