About
Automobility Fix is an unofficial addon for Automobility on NeoForge 1.21.1. It fixes long-standing bugs in Automobility 0.5.0.h and makes vehicles behave properly on multiplayer servers with claim and team mods.
It is an addon, not a replacement: it contains no Automobility code. Install it next to the original Automobility, on both the server and the client.
Fixes
Hitboxes
- No more "ghost" vehicles that can't be entered after rejoining or after a chunk reloads.
- No more invisible, permanent obstacles left behind where a vehicle used to be.
- Old broken hitboxes already saved in your world are cleaned up automatically.
Physics
- Vehicles no longer get flung into the air at chunk borders, on step edges or when several vehicles collide in tight spaces.
- Fixed wrong block detection at negative coordinates.
- Invalid (NaN) physics values are cleaned up, which removes AABB errors and vehicles disappearing or rendering broken.
Items and menus
- Fixed item duplication through trunks and other attachment menus: menus now close before the items drop when a vehicle or attachment is destroyed, and when you walk away.
Crashes
- Fixed the Auto Mechanic Table crashing when hovering an empty recipe category (e.g. when a modpack removes recipes).
- Fixed a render crash with the autopilot attachment.
Autopilot
- Vehicles on autopilot stop before unloaded chunks instead of falling through the world or vanishing.
Vehicle ownership
- The player who assembles or places a vehicle becomes its owner.
- The owner's whole team counts as owners too: FTB Teams party or Open Parties and Claims party (team allies are optional).
- Other players can't get in, drive, open the trunk or dismantle the vehicle — anywhere, not only inside claims.
- The owner and their team can use their vehicle even inside other players' claims (OPAC and FTB Chunks). All other claim rules stay unchanged.
- Vehicles placed before installing the addon have no owner and keep working as before.
Claim mod compatibility
Open Parties and Claims
- Fixed vehicles appearing duplicated at claim borders (one inside, one outside).
- A claim barrier no longer throws the driver out of the vehicle; the vehicle stops at the border instead.
- Protection checks use the vehicle itself, so
automobility:automobileis all you need in OPAC configs (no moreautomobility:hitbox).
FTB Chunks
- Protection checks use the vehicle and the chunk it is actually in, not its hitbox.
FTB Teams
- Team members share ownership of vehicles.
All integrations are optional and only activate when the corresponding mod is installed.
