It would be the BIGGEST lifesaver if you could make it save the default output and force the game to change to that every startup. I've messed up so many recordings because I had forgotten to change output.
Any chance for this menu to be accessible from mod-menu instead? My unusual audio setup makes the game crash whenever I access Music & Sounds and I really need to change the audio output in Linux.
If you are using PulseAudio you should be able to do it from pavucontrol, if for any reason it doesn't allow you to move Minecraft you will need to create the file ~/.alsoftrc with this content:
Yo I was installing this via the CurseForge launcher but I came all the way here to the site on Chrome just to comment. THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH. Changing Minecraft's audio device through Windows settings often reset itself for no readily apparent reason. This is brilliant, you're a lifesaver.
You have no idea how much this helped. I use Manjaro Linux and Java keeps setting the output to the wrong channel or wrong output. THANK YOU. May the other linux users bless you.
Y E S, this mod is literally a life changer for me and many others aswell since with it we no longer need to reload the entirety of the active resource packs to change into another device.
Nice mod. I have one issue though: with the newest version of OpenAL and HRTF enabled, when I change the output in-game without changing the system output and join a world, the internal server disappears somewhere right before sending mod list to it from the client (after connecting but before loading terrain). Otherwise it is a really helpful mod and I can switch output just fine while being inside a world. Just that one case is a bit annoying )
This was a great MOD thank you so much for all the work you did on it.
The features of this mod have now become part of the game in 1.18. Thank you for your service mod.
Really helped me with wierd audio bugs 👍
thank you very much
For new people here, use this one instead!

It is open-source, remembers your settings, and its UX is closer to vanilla 1.18.

Yeah, but it doesn't let me change my audio source on the fly in game.. D:

Is this compatible with 1.17.1 or are we waiting for an update? :O
In reply to alistergontineac:
Hi, the mod is compatible with 1.17.1
I've just now updated the file listing to reflect this.

Mod is incompatible with 1.17.
In reply to SqueezyTheOrca:
1.17 update has been released
Will the source code be released? If so, when?
