Attributes Controls
The problem
In big modpacks, stats stack up fast. Gear, enchantments, curios, potions and skill trees all add jump height and movement speed. Soon one tap of space throws you 50 blocks into the air and walking feels like 100 blocks per second. You can't build, fight or get through a cave, and the only fix is taking off the gear you worked for.
The solution
Attributes Controls gives you a simple in-game menu (default key: K, rebindable) where you set how high you jump and how fast you move. You keep all your gear and just set your own limits.
- Jump height slider: set it in blocks, from a vanilla jump (~1.25 blocks, enough to step up one block) up to your current maximum.
- Walking speed slider: set it in blocks per second, from vanilla walking speed up to your current maximum. Sprinting still gives its usual 30% boost on top.
- Your current max is shown in the menu. The mod tracks your real jumps and real movement, so the number reflects what you actually do, not just what your stats say. Run and jump once so it can measure you.
- Reset measurements: clears the measured maximums so you can measure again after your gear or buffs change.
- Reset to max: removes both limits instantly.
Why it works where attribute tweaks don't
Many modpacks don't boost you only through the jump strength or movement speed attributes. Lower gravity, Jump Boost, and mods that push you through events or directly change your velocity all go around those stats. Attributes Controls limits your actual movement, after every other mod has applied its boost. So whatever the source, the limit holds.
Good to know
- Client-side only. Install it on your own client. It works in singleplayer and on servers that don't have it.
- It only ever slows you down, never speeds you up.
- Limits are switched off during elytra flight, creative flight, Riptide, spectator mode and while riding.
- Your settings are saved in
config/attributes_controls-client.toml.
