Applied Automata

Applied Automata is an AE2 add-on that uses a flying swarm of construction drones to automatically build Litematica schematics. Connect to your ME network to pull resources, trigger auto-crafting, and let builder drones automate your blueprints!

What's new

Version 1.0.1 - The Security and Polish Update

Version 1.0.1 is a massive refinement update focused heavily on multiplayer server stability, anti-griefing measures, and smoothing out the visual and mechanical quirks of automated schematic building.

Building Logic and Physics Improvements

The drone swarm is now significantly smarter when handling complex vanilla and modded block states. A new universal property filter allows the station to instantly recognize multi-block structures like doors, beds, and tall flowers. Drones will now construct the secondary halves of these blocks completely for free, preventing item duplication and saving your ME network resources.

Furthermore, the station now features a dedicated Physics Update phase. Building massive schematics often results in blocks being placed before their supporting structures, which usually causes items to break prematurely. The swarm now bypasses physics during the build, but once construction reaches one hundred percent, the station safely scans the completed structure at a hard-capped rate of five hundred blocks per tick. Any blocks violating vanilla physics, such as floating torches or unsupported doors from a flawed blueprint, will cleanly pop off and drop as items. This ensures total physical accuracy without ever causing server lag spikes.

Visual and UI Polish

The visual experience during the construction phase has been vastly improved. The massive 3D wireframe hologram now dynamically reacts to the physical world in real-time. As drones place blocks, the corresponding section of the glowing blueprint will instantly vanish, eliminating visual clipping and providing a deeply satisfying way to watch the structure materialize.

Inside the station interface, the schematic selection and item requirement menus have been upgraded with a fully interactive, draggable scrollbar for smoother navigation through massive lists. Additionally, the Drone Station crafting recipe has been corrected to properly utilize Applied Energistics 2 Annihilation and Formation Cores.

Multiplayer Security and Anti-Griefing

For server administrators, this update introduces an extensive security overhaul to make Applied Automata completely safe for public multiplayer servers. The Drone Station now utilizes a highly optimized FakePlayer system that permanently binds to the unique ID of the player who initiates the build. This ensures that drones strictly obey territory protection plugins like FTB Chunks or WorldGuard, completely preventing players from using automated schematics to bypass claim borders and grief neighbors.

We have also patched several critical network vulnerabilities. The backend now features strict coordinate bounds clamping to prevent packet manipulation exploits, and establishes hard caps on blueprint payload sizes to completely protect the main server thread from malicious NBT memory lockups.
