Apothic XP Fix
Apothic XP Fix is a lightweight NeoForge mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 that changes how experience costs from Apothic Enchanting are handled.
Instead of treating experience requirements only as player levels, the mod converts applicable costs into actual XP points, allowing requirements and payments to use the player's real accumulated experience more accurately.
Features
-
Uses real XP points for supported anvil and Apothic Enchanting costs.
-
Keeps XP requirement checks and actual XP consumption synchronized.
-
Provides server-authoritative cost handling.
-
Includes client-side cost preview support.
-
Supports datapack-defined XP cost modifiers.
-
Provides a public Java API that can also be accessed through KubeJS.
-
Supports sequential multiplicative cost modifiers.
-
Supports conditional modifiers based on dimensions, held items, armor, inventory items and item tags.
-
Uses deterministic modifier ordering based on priority and modifier ID.
XP Cost Modifier Engine
XP costs can be modified without directly modifying Apothic XP Fix itself.
Modifiers may be supplied through datapacks or registered at runtime through the public API.
Multipliers are applied sequentially while retaining decimal precision until the final result.
For example:
100 XP
× 0.70
× 0.70
× 1.10
= 53.9 XP
→ 54 XP
Two 30% reductions therefore do not become a single 60% reduction:
100 × 0.70 × 0.70 = 49 XP
This naturally produces diminishing returns when multiple discounts are stacked.
Final costs are rounded only once after all modifiers have been applied.
Public Targets
The public modifier targets currently available are:
apothic_xp_fix:anvil
apothic_xp_fix:enchanting
Datapack Support
Datapack modifiers are loaded from:
data/<namespace>/apothic_xp_fix/cost_modifiers/
A simple modifier can look like:
{
"priority": 100,
"targets": [
"apothic_xp_fix:anvil",
"apothic_xp_fix:enchanting"
],
"multiplier": 0.70
}
Modifiers may also use supported conditions to restrict when they apply.
KubeJS / Java API
Apothic XP Fix exposes a public API for runtime integrations.
The API supports constant and dynamic multipliers, allowing modpacks to calculate XP costs according to their own gameplay systems without requiring direct modifications to this mod.

Compatibility
Apothic XP Fix is intended to act as a compatibility and integration layer around Apothic Enchanting's XP cost handling.
The mod is designed so modpacks can build their own XP-cost systems through datapacks or runtime integrations instead of maintaining custom patches to the core mod.
