Animated Inventory adds smooth, configurable animations to Minecraft's inventories. Watch items travel between slots, stacks gather together, and crafting ingredients flow into the item you're making.
The animations are purely visual. Your clicks, crafting, and item transfers still happen immediately.
- See where your items go. Animate pickups, placements, swaps, split stacks, merges, and shift-click transfers between your inventory and containers.
- Watch stacks come together. Double-click to collect matching items and see each contributing stack move toward the one you're holding.
- Bring crafting to life. Ingredients flow into the finished item when you take a crafting result, including shift-click crafting in both 2x2 and 3x3 grids.
- Smooth out the little details. Enjoy an animated hotbar selector, subtle hover and click effects, and slot highlights that stay behind your items.
- Choose your screen effects. Add fades, scaling, or sliding when opening and closing supported inventory screens.
Animated Inventory also includes support for familiar inventory mods:
- Bundled Not Siloed: movement throughout the main inventory, hotbar, and containers, plus animations into and out of the stash when transferring, sorting, or switching categories.
- Sophisticated Backpacks and Sophisticated Storage: item movement in supported storage screens, including ingredient animations for crafting upgrades.
- JEI and EMI: supported recipe-filling actions animate ingredients from their source slots, including the BNS stash.
- Inventory Particles and TrashSlot: tested alongside these mods, with their own visual behavior preserved.

Make the movement feel right for you: adjust animation speed, choose smooth, arcing, or spring-style movement, toggle individual effects, or enable reduced motion. Settings are available under Mods > Animated Inventory > Config.
For Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge 21.1.244 or newer. Install it in your client's mods folder. Servers do not need it installed.
