Soul Eater: Ancient Wither

Deep in the Soul Sand Valley, among forgotten ruins, dwells the Ancient Wither Skeleton — a boss that consumes souls to heal and grow stronger. The more souls it absorbs, the more dangerous it becomes.

Designed with no new menus, HUDs, or mana bars. Everything works with mechanics you already know.

☠ The Ancient Wither Skeleton

• Sleeps within the Ancestral Wither Ruins, found in Soul Sand Valleys.
• Approaching the skull at the center of the ruin awakens the boss.
• Alternates between flying and ground combat, using wither skulls, soul fire, powerful melee attacks, and summoned Wither Skeletons.
• Feeds on souls from the valley to heal and increase its power. Its strength is reflected in its appearance and behavior, without HUDs or counters.
• When its health drops below 50%, it spends less time on the ground and feeds more frequently.
• Drops experience based on the power it accumulated during the fight.

🏛 Ancestral Wither Ruins

• A new structure that generates in the Soul Sand Valley.
• Chests contain loot comparable to Bastion Remnants, including valuable materials and equipment.
• The Withering enchanted book can rarely be found in its chests.

Locate the structure using /locate structure souleater:ancestral_ruin.

Bottle of Souls

During the boss's feeding phase, use an empty glass bottle on a special soul fire or a floating soul fragment to capture a soul.

Souls can be captured without interrupting the boss or reducing its power.

Use the Bottle of Souls to redeem zombified creatures:

• 1. Apply a Splash Potion of Weakness to a Zombified Piglin or a Zoglin.

  2. Use the Bottle of Souls on the creature.

  3. Wait for the transformation into a Piglin or Hoglin.

  4. A redeemed Piglin is grateful and offers better barters to the player who redeemed it for one minute.

⚔ Withering Enchantment (I–III)

• A rare treasure enchantment found in Ancestral Wither Ruins.
• Applied to swords and axes using an anvil.
• Gives attacks a chance to inflict Wither. Higher levels increase the chance and strength of the effect.

🧪 Potions and Alchemy

• Wither Dust: a rare drop from Wither Skeletons in Nether Fortresses.
• Potion of Wither Resistance: brewed using an Awkward Potion and Wither Dust.
• Potion of Decay: brewed by combining Wither Resistance with a Fermented Spider Eye. Applies the Wither effect.
• Includes Redstone and Glowstone variants, as well as splash, lingering, and tipped arrow variants.

💡 Community Suggestions: Boss Loot

The Ancient Wither Skeleton's exclusive loot is still undecided. For now, defeating the boss rewards experience based on its accumulated power, while the Withering enchanted book can be found as rare loot in the ruins.
