What's new
0.1.0-alpha.6 — OpenAI and Grok voice, Grok chat
- Grok is now a chat provider (xAI's OpenAI-compatible API; suggested model
grok-4.7, or press Fetch for the live list). - Voice works with OpenAI and Grok, not only Gemini:
- Microphone (push-to-talk): choose Gemini, OpenAI or Grok under Voice settings → Microphone service.
- Spoken answers: choose Gemini, OpenAI, Grok or Piper (offline, Windows) as the voice engine, each with its own voice list.
- One key is enough when it matches your chat provider. Chatting through OpenAI or Grok, voice reuses that key automatically. A separate key field only appears for a voice service that differs from your chat provider (for example Claude for chat + Grok for voice). Claude has no speech API, so Claude users pick Gemini, OpenAI or Grok for voice, or Piper for offline answers.
- The "no key" message now names the service that needs a key.
- Existing settings keep working: the old Gemini voice key is still used, and voice defaults to Gemini as before.
Validation: release builds and all automated tests passed for each of the 33 targets, including new tests for WAV decoding, per-service voice keys and the OpenAI/Grok request and reply formats. OpenAI and Grok voice have not been tried against the live services or in a live game yet.
