Potions Life 1.0.0 – First release
A hands-on alchemy mod inspired by the alchemy of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. Brew potions on a 3D workbench by doing every step yourself.
Requires: NeoForge 21.1.x · Minecraft 1.21.1 · No other mods needed
Alchemy Bench
- 3-block interactive workbench: click the objects with your cursor, in a first-person "workbench view" with zoom.
- Fully animated: cauldron, jug, mortar & pestle, spoon, bellows, hourglass timer, still and phial, with particles and sounds.
- Real steps: base liquid (water, wine, oil, distillate), grinding, adding ingredients, boiling (3 heat levels), stirring, distilling and bottling.
- Mistakes matter: wrong order or timing lowers your score or ruins the mixture.
- Open the recipe book at any time with B or the on-screen button. Abandon a brew whenever you want.
Recipes (40)
- 30 common recipes + 10 rare ones. Each recipe has its own technique (infusion, thermal shock, triple distillation, whirlpool stirring and more).
- Rare potions combine 2–4 effects and glow like enchanted items.
- 5 starter recipes; the rest are found as scrolls in chests, sold by villagers, or discovered through experiments.
- Rare recipes come as Torn Scroll Fragments: put 3 matching fragments in a crafting table to assemble the scroll.
- Every recipe has its own scroll icon.
Free Mode (experimentation)
- Mix whatever you want, in any order. If it matches a recipe, you discover it. If not, you create a brand new "Mixture" potion.
- Ingredients have hidden properties you learn by using them. 7 special effects (Extend, Crystallize, Empower, Concentrate, Invert, Stabilize, Refine).
- Every tool changes the result: liquids, mortar, fire, spoon and still.
Quality
- Herbs and many vanilla plants/items now have 1–5 stars (from crops, mobs, fishing and crafting). Better ingredients make better potions.
- Potion levels: Weak, Standard, Strong, Perfect.
- Alchemist Fame: 6 ranks, with better harvests and a chance of double potions.
Herbs & farming
- 6 herbs found in the wild: Chamomile, Sage, Nettle, Belladonna, Mint and Mandrake. Each is best harvested in specific conditions (day, night or rain).
- Herb Planter: grows herbs in stages; water nearby and bone meal speed it up and improve stars.
- Drying Rack: dried herbs gain +1 star.
Villagers
- New Alchemist profession (works at the Alchemy Bench) with its own house in villages.
- Trades from herbs and planters to scrolls, potions, and rare fragments at master level.
Other
- Two creative tabs, including one just for recipe scrolls.
- Config options (easy mode, boil tolerance, scroll chance, plant quality and more).
- Languages: English and Português (Brasil).
- Commands for testing (OP):
/alchemy list | learn | learnall | forget | fame.
Notes
- Wild herbs and the Alchemist house only appear in newly generated chunks/villages.
- First release: bugs may happen. Please report them with your
latest.log.
