Affixes

Gear you craft or find gets a Terraria-style affix (Godly Diamond Sword, Light Iron Pickaxe), and hostile mobs can spawn as named elites: Vicious Zombie, Hardy Skeleton. A Reforge Anvil rerolls an affix for XP levels.

Gear

• Crafting a sword, bow, tool or armour piece rolls one affix. Chest loot in dungeons, strongholds, bastions, end cities, trial chambers and village smiths comes pre-affixed.
• Every affix is good, bad or neutral. About 5% of rolls are bad; the rest are upgrades.
• The prefix goes in front of the name (renames kept: Godly Excalibur) and the rarity colour shifts. Every stat is a normal attribute and shows in the tooltip.
• One affix per item; rerolling replaces it.

Elite mobs

• 8% of hostile mobs spawn with a coloured name, a particle tell and a stat change, these are affixed mobs and drop triple XP and twice as many items. Bosses and spawner mobs never roll.

Reforge Anvil

• Craft: iron ingot on top, iron / anvil / iron in the middle, diamond at the bottom.
• Right-click, drop gear in, see the current affix and price, press REROLL. Cost by tier: wood/gold 1, stone 2, iron 4, diamond 7, netherite 10 levels. Creative is free.

Works with other mods — items are matched by tag, so modded weapons, tools and armour that use vanilla or c: tags get affixes automatically. Opt items out with #taffix:no_affix.

Fully data-driven — every affix, roll pool, item category and reforge price is datapack JSON under data/taffix/. /reload picks up changes; bad files are logged and skipped, never crash. See the README on GitHub for the format.

Config: config/taffix.json — toggle crafting/loot/reforge/elites, elite chance, reforge cost scale, extra loot tables, boss deny list.

Requires Fabric API. Minecraft 1.21–1.21.1 only (1.21.2+ renamed the attribute ids).
