AeFi is an ASM-based mod that applies compatibility patches to the Aether II mod by Gilded Games.
It requires MalisisCore.
Why?
The 1.7.10 version of Aether II is infamous for having compatibility problems and a variety of (minor) bugs. In many cases, this prevents it from being added to modpacks, as it has far-reaching consequences that outright break the content of other mods.
AeFi aims to fix these issues, and make Aether viable for inclusion in modpacks.
How?
AeFi uses the same system that Minecraft Forge uses to patch Minecraft itself, but on Aether instead. This means it works with all versions of Aether, from 1.7.10-1.5.2 to 1.7.10-1.6, and doesn't require questionable redistribution of the original Aether code and assets.
What?
AeFi currently fixes the following Aether issues:
- #478 - Aether chat menu incompatible with TabbyChat and eirairc
It will fix more bugs and tweak some features in the future. This early release is mainly a stopgap for the sudden decision by Curse to reject Aether Unofficial, after attempting to re-submit it as non-experimental (since people have been using it for a while), even though it was up for a while with no issue.
