Ver 2.1.0 - Offhand Rendering and Back Sheathing Update!

Offhand rendering and offhand weapon changes

  • Fixed an issue where the offhand item appeared to briefly swing at the moment you right-clicked while holding a usable item (such as food or a bow) in your main hand.
  • Offhand attacks no longer happen while your main-hand item uses right-click (food, bows, and so on). This prevents bugs and unintended attacks in the middle of a chaotic fight.
  • Fixed an issue with two-handed weapons added by other mods (weapons that hide the offhand item and make it unusable while held in the main hand). Previously, the offhand weapon could still attack and was drawn incorrectly. Now, while you hold such a weapon, only the main-hand weapon can attack.
  • Fixed a bug where holding such a two-handed weapon in the offhand caused rendering glitches and still allowed offhand attacks. Large weapons that must be held with both hands now have to be wielded in the main hand to attack.

Changes when your offhand weapon can't be used

  • If the item in your main hand can be used with right-click, your offhand weapon becomes unusable. For example, if you hold a spear in your main hand, the sword in your offhand can't be used.
  • An unusable weapon in your hand feels wrong, and in the heat of battle you might reach for it by mistake. To solve this, an unusable offhand weapon is no longer drawn in first person, so you can tell at a glance whether it can be used.
  • In third person, an unusable offhand weapon is now stowed on your back. While your offhand weapon is unusable, press F5 to see your character carrying it on their back. (This is currently shown on your own character only.)
  • New config option: stowUnusableOffhandWeapon (default: true) in config/acrowield.json. Set it to false if you prefer the vanilla look. The unusable weapon will then be drawn in your hand in both first and third person. It still can't attack or deflect while unusable, so the controls stay the same either way. Restart the game after changing it.
