Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
1.6.0
- Fixed: the cinema could hand your game back wrong. Now and then it left the HUD hidden, so F1 had to be pressed to get it back, or left you in third person. It happened when the camera was started while it was already running - what it then noted down as "the view the player had" was its own. Reported from the comments; it is neither ping nor lag. Both are now put right, and held for a moment afterwards in case another mod has other ideas.
- The camera knows where it is standing. Surface, cave, deep dark, Nether, End - and what time it is where daylight happens at all. Every camera move is now weighed by that, so the rotation changes by itself when you walk into a cave or step through a portal: underground the lens keeps close and the crane, the sky climb and the fly-by stand down, under a Nether ceiling the low shots take over, and in the End everything that uses distance comes forward. Nothing asks for a dimension id, so a pack's own world gets the same treatment as the three that come with the game.
- Six shots that only exist in their own place.
- Lava sweep skims low across lava and past the subject - the Nether mostly, but a lava fall at the bottom of a ravine gets it too.
- Ceiling drop opens against the rock overhead and falls away from it onto the subject. It measures the headroom first: in a two block tunnel there is nothing to drop from and it does not try.
- Void edge backs off the rim and sinks below it until there is nothing at all under the subject. The End, and any cliff with sixteen blocks of nothing under it.
- Crawl creeps along the tunnel towards the subject with the walls sliding past the lens. It judges itself more loosely than the other shots on purpose - a frame half filled with rock is the picture down there, not a ruined take.
- Starfield turns the lens up off the subject into the stars. A clear night sky, and the End at any hour.
- Sunrise holds the skyline while the sun crosses it, the subject low in the frame and backlit. Dawn and dusk, and it waits for the sun to actually be on the horizon.
- A playlist for where you are. Soundtrack from has a fifth setting, SCENE, and it
needs no setting up: a playlist called
nightis played at night, and so aredawn, day, dusk, cave, deep dark, netherandend. Sorting music into folders with obvious names is a thing people already do, and now it simply works. Where a list of yours is called something else, scenePlaylistspoints a name at it -night = Dark Ambient. Where nothing fits, every track is in the running, because going quiet underground would be the worse answer. The change lands between two pieces, never mid-track.
