Death Angels 2.0.0
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
New features: traps and survival
-
Added Bear Traps and Tripwire Bottle Traps, each with its own activation, disarming, and escape mechanics.
-
Added throwable bottles and bricks to create sound distractions.
-
Added interactive wooden planks that can produce noise when handled too quickly.
-
Added challenge mechanics for escaping Bear Traps and disarming Bottle Traps.
-
Implemented cached geometry for Bottle Traps to avoid repeated reconstruction during collision and targeting queries.
-
Implemented caching for Bear Trap targeting shapes.
Monster hearing and behavior
-
Removed the restriction that prevented additional monsters from reacting when two were already near a sound source.
-
Fresh sounds at previously investigated locations can attract monsters again.
-
Fixed sound selection so a monster's own noise no longer hides external sound sources.
-
Adjusted simultaneous sound merging to preserve distinct source identities.
-
Animal sounds now feed the hearing system and can cause monsters to pursue and attack the animal responsible.
-
Meteor impacts no longer generate hearing events for monsters or the Queen. Audio, explosions, particles, craters, and creature spawning remain intact.
-
Improved adult Death Angel and Queen navigation toward elevated targets, including one-block towers. Juveniles still cannot climb.
-
Preserved obstacle detours when pursuing ground-level targets.
Traps and interactions
-
In Survival Mode, traps can only be broken or collected when disarmed.
-
Armed traps and their side sections are protected from normal breaking, explosions, and creature destruction.
-
Creative Mode players can break armed traps, including through their side sections.
-
Bottles that fall after activation become disarmed and can be collected.
-
Corrected breaking and impact particle colors for traps and Bottle Trap side sections.
-
Fixed held and inventory trap rendering to use their three-dimensional models.
-
Mistakes in the Bear Trap escape challenge no longer release the player automatically. A successful escape is required.
-
Failing the Bottle Trap disarming challenge produces the same noise as crossing the tripwire.
-
Bottle Trap disarming interactions are restricted to the bottles themselves.
-
Fixed camera locking and accumulated mouse movement during plank interactions.
-
Moving planks too quickly produces noise in both directions, including before placement.
Items, movement, and the Queen
-
The Sound Level Meter now detects nearby sounds from objects and traps, including sounds masked by ambient noise for monsters.
-
Each sandbag contains 20 portions and leaves an empty bag after use.
-
Two sand slabs form a block with the standard sand appearance.
-
Restored normal crouching speed. Holding the sprint key while crouching allows faster, noisier movement.
-
Revised the Queen's focused listening, blur effect, sound source identification, and charge after detection.
Commands and world rules
-
Revised registration and functionality for
/deathangels apocalypseand/deathangels noise. -
Added usage guidance and permission feedback.
-
Action commands require cheats or operator permission level 2.
-
doMobSpawning=falseprevents new automatic Death Angel spawns from meteors, nests, and eggs. It does not remove existing creatures or prevent meteor impacts and craters.
