Description
Artifacts Addon
Artifacts Addon is a companion mod for //www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/artifacts" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/artifacts" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Artifacts. It adds 45 new artifacts across all five Curios slots and an everlasting counterpart for 33 vanilla foods, using the base mod's own item classes, worn rendering, loot injection and config style. It is not a replacement or a rewrite — it plugs into Artifacts and behaves like more of it.
Found, not crafted
Artifacts is an exploration mod: its artifacts are loot only, and the whole mod ships exactly three recipes. This addon keeps that rule. Every artifact is found, in the same places and at the same rates as the originals:
- 29 structure chests — ancient cities, bastions, buried treasure, desert pyramids, end city treasure, igloos, jungle temples, mineshafts, nether fortresses, pillager outposts, ruined portals, shipwrecks, strongholds, underwater ruins, woodland mansions and eleven kinds of village chest.
- 5 archaeology sites — brushing suspicious sand and gravel at desert wells, desert pyramids, ocean ruins and trail ruins.
- 9 mob types — zombies, husks, drowned, skeletons, strays, wither skeletons, piglins, piglin brutes and zombified piglins spawn wearing an artifact and drop it when killed.
- Campsite chests — the underground camps Artifacts generates can hold one of these too.
- Mimics — a mimic has a chance to drop one of these alongside its usual prize.
This is not an imitation of the base mod's loot system, it is the base mod's loot system: the addon declares Artifacts' own artifacts:roll_loot_table global loot modifier and its own loot conditions. The practical consequence is that the artifactRarity setting in Artifacts' config governs these artifacts as well — turn artifacts down and these get rarer with them, with nothing else to configure.
The only recipes in the mod are the 21 that mirror Artifacts' Eternal Steak: cooking an everlasting raw food into its everlasting cooked one, in a furnace, smoker or campfire, at the base mod's own experience and cooking times.
The artifacts
Belt (12) — Toxic Skull, Wither Skull and Frost Skull grant immunity to poison, wither and freezing. The Ironclad Vessel adds armour and toughness, the Blast Charm halves explosion damage, and the Salamander Charm makes fire and lava burn your hunger instead of your health. The Verdant Charm grows nearby crops, the Warding Charm stops hostile mobs spawning around you, and the Lamplighter's Charm simply lights the way — no torch placed, no torch spent. The Magnetic Coil pulls in experience, the Second Wind Charm hands you absorption when a hit would nearly kill you, and the Gravedigger's Charm makes the things you kill drop their heads.
Hands (8) — Power Claws add flat damage; the Frost Gauntlet freezes what it hits solid; the Knockback Gauntlet sends targets flying; the Sunlit Gauntlet burns the undead. The Ravenous Claws feed you for every kill. Then three that read the health bar: the Duelist's Gauntlet rewards fighting at full health, the Berserker's Gauntlet rewards the opposite, and the Executioner's Claws multiply damage against anything already wounded.
Head (6) — the Luck Hat and the Prospector's Hat improve your luck and your fortune. The Scholar's Spectacles double the experience blocks drop. The Chef's Hat makes every meal go further. The Crown of Command strengthens your tamed animals. The Farmer's Hat sows a 3×3 area at once, and with a hoe in hand it harvests a 3×3 of grown crops and replants them from your inventory.
Feet (4) — Soul Boots run on soul sand, Silk Striders never trample farmland, Trailmaker Boots pave grass and dirt into path as you walk, and Whisperstep Boots make you emit no vibrations at all: sculk sensors stay dark, shriekers never scream, and the warden has nothing to follow.
Necklace (11) — the Bulwark Pendant resists knockback, the Deflector Pendant resists projectiles, and the Guardian's Pendant simply cancels an incoming hit outright now and then. The Clarity Pendant clears blindness, darkness, nausea and weakness. The Vital Pendant heals you out of combat, the Alchemist's Pendant stretches every potion you drink, and the Undying Locket keeps your experience through death. The Shadow Cloak shortens the range at which hostile mobs notice you; the Kinship Pendant makes sure neutral creatures never turn on you at all. The Insomniac's Charm keeps phantoms away for good, and the Pendant of the Owl outlines hostile mobs through walls.
Held (4) — the Infinite Milk Bucket clears your effects without being consumed, the Ender Satchel opens your ender chest anywhere, the Recall Stone channels for two seconds and sends you home to your bed, and the Divining Rod outlines every ore vein around you straight through the rock.
The everlasting foods
Artifacts has one food that never runs out. This addon has 33: an everlasting version of nearly every edible vanilla item, from bread and apples to rabbit stew, pumpkin pie and the enchanted golden apple. Eating one gives the original food's nutrition and effects, keeps the item, and puts it on a configurable cooldown.
They are found the way Artifacts' Everlasting Beef is found — from whatever drops the ordinary version. Pigs, chickens, sheep, rabbits and four kinds of fish drop theirs when killed by a player; melons, berry bushes, glow berries, carrots, potatoes, beetroots and chorus plants drop theirs when harvested. Bread, cakes, stews and golden apples have no natural source, so they turn up in the same chests and campsite barrels the base mod uses.
Dried kelp, poisonous potatoes, spider eyes, rotten flesh and suspicious stew are deliberately left out: an endless supply of them is either useless or actively unpleasant.
Details
- Two creative tabs of its own, one for the artifacts and one for the foods.
- Around 50 config options — every damage bonus, radius, chance, duration and cooldown. Setting a bonus to zero makes that artifact purely cosmetic, exactly as Artifacts does with its own.
- Full worn rendering, reusing Artifacts' models so everything sits on your character properly.
- Config is read lazily, so most edits apply without restarting the game.
Requirements
Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47+, and Artifacts 9.5.18 or newer (which brings Curios, Architectury, Cloth Config and ExpandAbility with it).
