Slingshot
A pocket-sized bow that runs on cobblestone.
Three sticks, one string, and you're armed. The slingshot fires pebbles knocked off any cobblestone, keeps you on your feet while you aim, and with the right enchantments it fires four shots a second or sprays pebbles like a shotgun.
No mods needed: just a data pack and a resource pack for Java Edition 26.3.
Why you'll want one
- Never run out of ammo. One cobblestone makes four pebbles. Forget hunting chickens for feathers.
- Shoot on the move. Drawing a bow slows you to a crawl. With a slingshot you keep three times the speed, so you can back off from a creeper or circle a skeleton while you line up the shot.
- Machine-gun it with Quick Charge. The crossbow's enchantment works on the slingshot too. At level III you're at full power in a quarter of a second.
- Turn it into a shotgun with Scatter. A new enchantment only the slingshot can take: each shot sprays three to five pebbles. Up close they all land and hit harder than a single shot; find it in chests, from librarians or at the enchanting table.
- Every bow enchantment. Power, Punch, Flame, Infinity, Unbreaking and Mending all work, so you can build a slingshot as fancy as your best bow.
- Flaming pebbles. With Flame, your pebbles burn on the way and set mobs alight. Hit TNT, a campfire or a candle and it lights up.
- It hits like an arrow. Full draws crit, mobs come after you or run off, and shields block it. Ring bells, press wooden buttons and trigger target blocks from across the room.

The slingshot fits in your inventory's 2×2 grid, so you can make one on your first night.

Grab the slingshot early on, on the run, or when you need to keep firing. Take the bow for long shots, and the crossbow for one big hit or a firework into a crowd.
Get started
- Drop the data pack into your world's
datapacksfolder. - Add the resource pack under Options → Resource Packs. It gives the slingshot its look and sound, so you need both.
- Run
/reload.
