Netherite Without Templates

Removes the need for an upgrade template to transform Diamond gear into Netherite at the Smithing Table, mimicking 1.19 behavior.

If you wish that smithing Netherite gear didn't require an upgrade template like it did before 1.20, this datapack solves that issue. It provides the following benefits:

  • Netherite smithing only requires the Diamond gear and a Netherite Ingot.
  • Existing upgrades can be crafted into a single diamond.
  • Check below the video for mod support.

Due to how NeoForge handles recipes, this data pack does NOT support NeoForge 1.20.4 or lower! You won't be able to upgrade your tools unless you disable this data pack. Please use Forge, Fabric, or Quilt for those game versions.

Mods

  • Check this Google Sheet for the current list of supported mods. Playing on 1.20, 1.20.1, or 26.3 require extra steps to make sure the game loads the data pack. Check /data or /26.3/data inside the zip for additional info.
