Don't let your gear break — make it stronger!

Gear Tempering is a Minecraft datapack that allows your tools, weapons, and armor to improve through continued use.

Instead of breaking, your equipment automatically repairs itself and earns Tempering Points (TP). Every 5 Tempering Points, eligible equipment upgrades to the next material tier!

• 🔧 Automatic Repair – Equipment repairs itself before breaking.

• ⭐ Tempering Points – Earn 1 TP every time your equipment is repaired.

• 🛡️ Weapons, Tools & Armor – Supports swords, axes, pickaxes, shovels, hoes, and armor.

• 💾 Individual Progression – Tempering Points are stored separately on each item.

• 🎉 Upgrade Notifications – Receive a "TEMPERING SUCCESSFUL!" message when your equipment evolves.

• ✨ Keep Your Gear – Custom names and enchantments are preserved.

⛏️ Material Progression

Tools & Weapons:

Wood → Stone → Iron → Gold → Diamond

Armor:

Leather → Iron → Gold → Diamond

Each material upgrade requires 5 additional Tempering Points.

📦 Installation

1. Download Gear Tempering.

2. Place the ZIP file in your world's datapacks folder.

3. Enter your world and type /reload.

4. Start using your equipment!

🎮 Compatibility

• Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.1
• Datapack – No additional mods required

Use your gear. Temper it. Keep it.

Note: Gear Tempering has not been tested with modded items and is currently designed for vanilla Minecraft equipment. Modded tools, weapons, and armor are likely not supported.

Note: Netherite upgrades are intentionally excluded from this version of Gear Tempering.
