Democracy Intrigue

The Democracy Intrigue data pack offers a one of a kind experience for Minecraft servers. Players can elect a King, who becomes server operator and has access to all the luxuries that come with it. But the King is not immortal. Players can topple the King by killing them, or hitting them with a splash potion of oozing. Have a rival who you think will beat you in the election? Assassinate them! players who are killed respawn as immortal reapers who can cause all sorts of fun chaos with a limited amount of arrows, a scythe, and an unlimited number of snowballs. The catch is... they cannot participate in elections! Players remain in reaper mode for at most 10 minutes, but killing players and mobs makes the time reduce faster!

The data pack only works in Hardcore mode on multiplayer servers. Fear not, you will be able to respawn as normal. 

It is highly recommended for server hosts to set "op-permission-level" to "2" inside "server.properties" this prevents ops from shutting down the server and banning, kicking and oping players.

You MUST set "function-permission-level" to "4" in "server.properties" in order for the pack to function.

Don't use this with keepinventory.

A helpful list of commands and what they do.

/trigger startelection

• Starts the election. All candidates must stand on a Decorated Pot until the timer finishes, and continue standing on it as votes are counted. Players choose what item to use for voting and put their vote in the pot of the candidate of their choice. At the end the candidate with the most votes becomes op. There can at most be a tie of two people.

/trigger setvote

• Sets the location all players will be teleported to when the election is started. Can only be executed by the current King.

/function democracyintrigue:checkop

• Can be executed by any op player. Returns a number of ticks the current King has retained the throne. divide by 20 to get it in seconds.

/function democracyintrigue:opreset

• Can be executed by any op player. Resets the system to allow for another election, the current op may have to be deoped manually however if they are not online. Please follow this command with "/deop player" and "/tag player remove isop" with "player" being the current op.

 Future Plans:

• Adding a gamerule that will toggle between players being sent to reaper mode on all deaths or just when another player kills them. The current is all deaths.
• Some kind of built-in graves system
