Casual Tinkering – Better Combat Compatibility Datapack

A datapack that adds custom attack animations for the Circular Saw when using Better Combat.

📦 Overview

This datapack integrates the Circular Saw from Casual Tinkering with the popular combat overhaul mod Better Combat. When installed, the Circular Saw will use Better Combat's one-handed axe animations, giving it a satisfying swing, proper attack range, and a smooth combo feel.

No modification to Casual Tinkering itself is required – this is a standalone datapack that works as an optional add-on.

📥 Installation

1. Install Better Combat (Forge version) from here.
2. Download this datapack (the .zip file).
3. Place the .zip file into your world's datapacks folder:
   • Singleplayer: .minecraft/saves/YourWorld/datapacks/
   • Server: <world_folder>/datapacks/
4. Start the world (or run /reload) to activate the datapack.

Note: The datapack must be installed per world. If you want it in all worlds, you can put it in .minecraft/datapacks/ (global), but this is not recommended unless you always play with Better Combat.

📝 How It Works

Better Combat uses a data-driven system to assign attack animations to weapons. This datapack provides a simple JSON file that tells Better Combat to treat the Circular Saw as a one-handed axe with custom range and animation. No Java code is involved – it's pure resource/data pack magic.

The datapack does not add any new items or blocks. It only adds metadata for the existing Circular Saw.

• No animation? Make sure Better Combat is installed and enabled, and that the datapack is active (check with /datapack list).
• Incorrect attack range? Verify you placed the datapack correctly and reloaded.
