What is the Nostalgia Shader?
It is a shaderpack meant to replicate the look and feel of "first-gen" shaderpacks (Seus v08, Chocapic v3 etc.) while also adding new features and visual effects like volumetric fog.
What are the features/effects that this shaderpack has?
- custom skybox and lighting colors
- dynamic shadows
- volumetric fog
- wind effects on foliage
- shader based vanilla styled clouds (including an option for story mode styled clouds)
- second layer of volumetric clouds (partially inspired by super duper pack, but better)
- nether and end support
- TAA and auto exposure

Love this shader, good job!
Is this shader supposed to work flawlessly with 1.16.x ? Because I get low FPS (30-40) even in empty Flat worlds with just some simple blocks and saplings.
EDIT: Could you add an option to disable minimum ambient lighting for caves being truly dark without a light source ?

Try resetting your video and shaderpack settings ingame and make sure render quality is at 1x. As for the setting for no min light, I'll make sure to include that in the next update.

Why are the banners never working? They are just one or two colors and its realy anoying

Hey, love that shader, absolutely amazing. I have an issue however, I have underground light and can see the border of the block in the dark depending on the sun and moon angle. in absolute closed room/cave, is that normal ? I only have optifine 1.16.4 HD_U_G5 as a mod. I tried tweaking some parameters but I couldn't find the culprit.
Hi, really love the shader, probably my favourite one yet. I just have one question - is there no rendering for and Nether blue/grey fog by design or may that be an issue connected with the newest optifine? (1.16.3)
Torches Dont have an outer glow when in hand and im using optifine so?

The glow in the hand isn't a fault of the shaders, for that you have to activate the sophisticated glow

From looking at the comments I take it you would be the creator of this Shader Pack.
Absolutely love the style you're going for, great Shader pack with lots of potential for future improvements.
This is what Minecraft should be looking like.
I've only got one complaint though, I am a fan of the vanilla breaking animation of minecraft and since I have started using this shader pack without any resource packs, it shows a white and gray overlay on the block breaking animation. I find it slightly disturbing, no offence to the pack though, would just like to know if there is a setting in the shader pack whereI could possibly change the breaking animation overlay off or switch it to vanilla/default breaking animation.
I think we've already adressed that on my discord but for the sake of it, that bug exists due to some whackyness of overlays and such in newer optifine versions (thanks 1.15 and its stupid "new" render engine).
Does installing Mesa (Which supports openGL 4) allow this shader to work on Macs?
I really like this shader as it doesn't lag like much other shaders and especially the clouds in Story Mode style is the reason I love this shader. One thing kinda confused me tho. Under water everything seems like there is no water. Is this intended?
That seems to be a bug, gonna take a look at that for the next update.
It could just be because I'm using this with the latest version of Optifine on the latest version of Minecraft, but the rain reflections of the clouds are really jittery.

Currently not, its something I am considering for the next release tho.
