Better Traders [Datapack]
It’s well known that wandering traders don’t offer the best trades. This pack aims to remedy that while maintaining balance and sticking to the Vanilla idea of the trader.

Notable changes include:
-The trader now offers 7 trades instead of 6
-The possibility to offer explorer maps that lead to desert temples, jungle temples, igloos, or witch huts
-Some new trades to help you find biome exclusive items
-Various other new trades
-Many trades give more items
-Many trades have had their price decreased and/or have had their max uses increased
-Some trades for common and easily available items have been removed
-Trade grouping to help decrease the possibility of the trader offering multiple similar items
A table displaying the full list of possible trades can be found here.
Feedback is very much welcomed! If you have ideas for new trades or how existing ones could be tweaked, let me know!
Downloading
To use this in your world, you need to drop the downloaded .zip file into your world's datapacks folder. You can find this in the following directory:
/.minecraft/saves/<world save>/datapacks
The "<world save>" is whatever your world's file is named.
There is no need to unzip or unpackage anything.
Installing Updates:
Delete the old version of the pack and paste in the new one. Do not reload the world (either by rejoining or typing /reload) before pasting in the new version. Simply pasting without deleting can cause issues with files not being properly removed, replaced, or renamed.
Other Projects by Me
The Expanded Advancement and Recipe Pack is a large datapack that adds many new advancements and recipes.
More Dragon-Proof Blocks is a pack that increases the number of blocks the Ender Dragon doesn't destroy.
Silk Touch-less Campfires is a pack that makes it so campfires will drop themselves when mined, even without silk touch.
Cave-ier Spiders is a pack that makes cave spiders spawn in caves instead of normal spiders.

If possible would be cool to add in the possibility to get stuff you can't get in a single biome world. Bamboo, Cocoa beans, snow blocks, coral fans and turtle eggs would all make a desert only biome far easier.
Never mind I'm an idiot you've actually covered all this with the exception of coral fans. If you could add those that would be awesome!
Update for 1.19 please
Whats your discord name I joined the server but can't see you
Can you explain me how to add a custom trade with nbt data and everything, i was trying to add a new loot table for special items like a leather armor with certain modifiers but somehow the nbt tag is not working and I cant change the buying items even if I change it from emerald to firework_stone it doesnt aply and still buys for emeralds. I love what you created but I dont have a error log where I can see what went wrong so i cant fix my mistakes and its hard to actually change items can you help me ?
maybe via discord or something
Greetings Jack
pls update to add the moss trade :'D
do the travelers have to find me, or can i spawn them in?
please reply lol
In reply to kingnuggetexe:
Wandering Traders will have their new trades if they spawn naturally, are summoned, or are from a spawn egg. The way Wandering Traders are found in survival isn't changed, however.
In reply to PancakeIdentity:
hmm then something must not be working on my side. i will check it out, thanks!
In reply to kingnuggetexe:
Let me know if you need anything!
Hi, I want to integrate a pack of "datapack" ,just like modpacks ,may I?
I will attach URL and producer.
(Sorry about my Poor English.)
Does this interfere with mods that add trades? Im thinking of adding this to my modded world, but I dont wanna break anything
In reply to icelingbolt:
Almost certainly, but it'd depend on the mod and how it implements its changes. I'd test it in a separate world first, if you can. Worst case, it shouldn't actually break anything, it'd just effectively act as if those mods weren't there.
In reply to PancakeIdentity:
And if they absolutely have to use the trades in the mod, all they really have to do is edit the datapack to have the trades from the mod have chances to appear.
In reply to oaklog02:
Do you think a cheap apple trade (maybe 1 emerald for 3 or something) would fill this role well enough? I think gold is easy-ish to get, and it feels a bit less overtly OP to me, plus I think it fits the trader's overall theming a bit better.
In reply to PancakeIdentity:
Definitely the golden itens should be cheaper than the potions. I was thinking like 1 to 3 emeralds for a regular apple, 5 to 7 for an enchanted one, 3 to 5 for a instant health/regeneration I potion/splash potion, 4 to 6 for a instant health/regen II potion/splash potion. Maybe one up to two itens of health regen should appear for each trader. Something along those lines, since it's supposed to a an early game alternative it's better to have it in low prices and low stock.
It seems that the Wandering Trader is not spawning with this data pack... =/
In reply to oaklog02:
What version of Minecraft are you on? Are you using any mods or other datapacks? Does it work when you use spawn eggs?
Nothing in this pack should be affecting the actual spawning of the traders as far as I know. Also, keep in mind that there can only be one wandering trader per world at a time and they only attempt to spawn once an in-game day, so it might be that one just hasn't spawned *yet*.
In reply to PancakeIdentity:
Sorry, my bad. I had some issue going on with another data pack.
In reply to oaklog02:
Alright, glad you got it figured out!
