SpeakAC — Lightweight Server-Side Anti-Cheat

SpeakAC is a Bukkit/Spigot anti-cheat plugin that detects common movement and combat cheats in real time and automatically punishes offenders, so server owners don't have to manually review reports or watch replays.

Detection modules included:

  • Fly — Catches players hovering, ascending unnaturally fast, or staying airborne with no net descent, and corrects them by snapping them back to solid ground.
  • Speed — Flags players moving faster than the server-allowed movement speed for their current state (walking, sprinting, etc.).
  • NoFall — Detects players who take a real fall but don't register the expected fall damage, catching fall-damage-cancelling exploits.
  • Anti-Knockback — Detects when a hit player doesn't move the amount their applied knockback velocity should have produced, catching knockback-nullifying clients.
  • Reach — Flags melee hits landed from beyond the vanilla attack range.
  • Kill Aura — Detects inhuman attack patterns such as impossible click angles, snapping, or attacking through walls/obstructions.
  • Scaffold — Catches suspicious block-placement patterns (e.g. placing blocks underneath yourself at impossible speed or angle while bridging).
  • Fast Eat — Detects consuming food/potions faster than the minimum vanilla eat animation allows.
  • Auto Clicker — Detects perfectly consistent, inhumanly fast click patterns typically associated with autoclickers.
  • Timer — Detects clients running game ticks faster than the server allows (timer hacks).

How it affects the player experience:

  • Legitimate players are unaffected — checks are tuned with grace periods around known vanilla edge cases (water exit, explosions, Riptide tridents, slime/honey/bed landings, off-hand eating, Chorus Fruit's instant use, etc.) so normal gameplay doesn't get falsely punished.
  • Cheaters are automatically corrected (teleported/snapped back) and accumulate violation points; repeated violations lead to automatic temporary or permanent bans, configurable per check.
  • Server admins get a violation log and commands (/speakac, /sacunban) to review flags, adjust thresholds per check in config.yml, and manage bans without digging through console logs.

Why use it: SpeakAC aims to give small-to-mid-size survival/PvP servers a self-hosted, no-cost alternative to paid anti-cheats, with configurable thresholds so admins can tune sensitivity to their own player base instead of relying on one-size-fits-all defaults.
