Null Signals

An unseen Observer makes the world feel watched!

Description

NullSignals

Psychological horror for your server. An unseen Observer quietly watches each player and, from time to time, makes the world feel wrong: lights die, doors move on their own, shadows crawl at the edge of vision, and a glitching message hangs in the air.

Every anomaly is per player. What one player sees is never shown to anyone else.

Features

  • Madness meter - each player has a hidden Madness value (0-100). It rises in the dark, underground and when alone, and falls in daylight, near other players and after sleeping. Higher Madness means more frequent and stronger anomalies.
  • Doors - a nearby door, trapdoor or fence gate opens and closes by itself, with ash particles.
  • Flicker - nearby torches, lanterns, lamps and candles stutter, smoke and go fully dark, then come back.
  • Shadows - dark particle shapes circle the player while the screen darkens.
  • Sky - the time of day and weather jump around, then return to normal.
  • Signals - a glitching line of text materialises in front of the player, with a signal-strength indicator, then tears apart and vanishes.
  • Figure - a still, dark silhouette wearing the player's own head stands far away, facing them. It disappears if the player approaches or stares at it.
  • Phantom Blasts - a distant fake explosion with fire, smoke and falling debris. Nothing is actually destroyed.
  • Chest gift (optional) - an odd, worthless item appears in a chest the player recently opened. This is the only real world change and it is off while safe mode is on.
  • Safe mode (default) - no real world changes at all. Doors, lights and the sky are faked for one player only and always restored.
  • Observer Console - an admin GUI showing live Madness, the time to the next anomaly, and a button for every anomaly.
  • Showcase - a sequence of anomalies around you, perfect for trying the plugin out.
  • Opt-out - players can switch NullSignals off for themselves, and staff can be exempt.
