CustomPvP is a lightweight Spigot/Paper plugin that replaces the modern combat system with a highly customizable alternative. It allows server administrators to fine‑tune attack speed, damage, attack cooldown, and blocking mechanics for every item material individually – all from a single YAML configuration.
No more hardcoded values – you decide exactly how each sword, axe, or even a stick behaves in combat.
✨ Features
-
Per‑material Attack Speed – Set custom base attack speed (attribute ATTACK_SPEED) for any item. Perfect for making swords fast and axes slow.
-
Per‑material Damage – Override the default damage value for each weapon type. Create glass‑cannon daggers or heavy hammers.
-
Per‑material Attack Cooldown – Define a custom cooldown (in ticks) after each hit, simulating the classic 1.8 hit‑delay or even adding unique weapon rhythms.
-
Classic Sword Blocking – Right‑click with a sword (or any configured item) to gain Resistance, effectively mimicking the old blocking mechanic. Duration and eligible items are fully configurable.
-
Reload Command – /pvp reload to apply configuration changes without restarting the server (requires pvp.admin permission).
-
Lightweight & Dependency‑Free – No external libraries required. Works on Spigot, Paper, and forks for Minecraft 1.9 – 1.20+.
-
Auto‑applies on Join & Item Switch – Attack speed updates instantly when a player joins or changes their held item.

📝 Notes
-
The plugin does not modify critical hit mechanics or knockback – it focuses on attack speed, damage, cooldown, and blocking.
-
For best performance, use Paper or its forks.
-
If you encounter issues with the cooldown feature on older versions, ensure your server software supports Player#setAttackCooldown(int) (introduced in 1.9).
