## Dynamic Surroundings — Bedrock Edition Changelog
synced with the Java Reworked pack's recent fixes; schema differs — sound_definitions.json
### Critical bug fixes (same root cause as Java)
- Fixed mob.warden.heartbeat and mob.warden.ambient: both referenced Remastered/ambient/unknown/deep-dark (wrong subfolder). Real file is at ambient/underground/deep-dark. Heartbeat was 100% silent before this fix
- Fixed elytra.loop: referenced sounds/elytra/elytra_loop, which does not exist anywhere in this pack (Bedrock never shipped this file, unlike Java). Replaced with 3 long mono wind loops (windnormal/lightwind/heavywind, 32-96s) rather than the short wing-flap one-shots, which are the wrong content type for a continuous loop event
- Fixed random.swim: referenced the sounds/dsurround/... namespace, a leftover from the original Java mod that was never included in this resource pack. Replaced with water_stereofix (water_through1-11 primary, water_wander1-5 rare tier) — same fix as the Java pack's entity.generic.swim
### Bedrock-specific bugs (not present in the Java version)
- Fixed block.scaffolding.step: all 7 entries pointed at sounds/step/scaffold1-7, which don't exist anywhere in the pack. Rewired to deckwood_run1-11
- Fixed block.lantern.step: was a copy-paste bug reusing the .break event's file list (break1-6) — and those files don't exist either. Repointed to the same content as block.metal.step
### Broken reference cleanup (path typos / wrong subfolder, mirrors the Java fix set)
- Fixed 18 references across step.snow, step.gravel, step.grass, step.sand, step.stone, block.mud.step, fall.vines, mob.fox.ambient, mob.parrot.idle, mob.parrot.fly, mob.polarbear.idle, mob.panda.step (wrong ambience subfolder, chiping1→chirping1 typo, wendogo2→wendigo2 typo, birdlong#→longbird# word-order fix, off-the-end numbering reused to the nearest existing file)
- 4 references left unfixable — no source audio anywhere in the pack: night2, night3, swamp, swamp2 ambience layers in step.gravel/block.mud.step (needs new recordings)
- Thunder remains unfixable on this platform: ambient.weather.thunder and ambient.weather.lightning.impact reference thunder1-8, and unlike Java, this Bedrock pack never had thunder audio at any path — needs new recordings, not a config fix
### Material coverage synced with Java (folded into the closest available Bedrock event — no Java-equivalent granular IDs like calcite/copper/sulfur/vault exist on this platform)
- dirt → step.gravel
- marble + concrete + lino → step.stone
- metalbar + metalbox → block.metal.step (previously only used a handful of stray metalbox-named files leaked into the metal folder; now uses the full dedicated sets)
- bluntwood → step.wood
- brush + leaves → step.grass
- quicksand → step.sand
- weakice → step.snow
- muffledice → step.glass
- squeakywood (separate, distinct recording) → block.bamboo.step
- Small leftover variants added: stone_wander, snow_wander, glass_hard1, petals leaves_through6/7
- Unused custom audio: 307 files → 45
### Audio pipeline
- Converted 57 stray stereo files to mono: all of Remastered/blocks/step, Remastered/ambient/bird, and silence.ogg — now fully mono, matching the Java pack
- Applied the same footstep/ambient volume rebalance as Java: material footstep entries x1.25 (cap 2.5), ambient-overlay entries mixed into footsteps x1.7 (cap 2.0). Result: material step median 1.0 → 1.25, ambient overlay median 0.41 → 0.68 — matches the Java pack's post-fix levels
