3.0.0: The Labour of Love, Anniversary and Plus-ified Update
Released on July 23 2025
So... You may have wondered how and why it took 11 months for the next update to release, and why it's on the pack's 1st birthday. Well based off the version number, there is a reason for both the update name, and the long wait.
But for that, let us go on a journey.
A journey of a kids life completely changing after finding and trying multiple things.
But i do warn you, this journey is long, so if you just want the features and the reason as to why, you can skip to the bottom of the story.
• Lets start on March 2023. The kid was looking for packs that could improve his Minecraft experience. Eventually, he would find one that aims to evolve most of Minecraft's textures while somewhat retaining it's art style.
-- He downloaded it and while it he initially didn't like it, it would grew on him quickly.
• Skip forward to July 2023, an update of a pack which emulates the visuals of another version of Minecraft released. He would see it and try it, and eventually, would like it. For most times, he perfered the pack than vanilla.
• These packs would grow on him for a while, but the lack of compatibility would annoy him more and more as time when on. Eventually, during April 2024, the kid would had an idea to make his own compatibility pack.
• So, he rushed to cobble out a pack. granted, it wasnt made for the public, so most of the assets were from those packs, but he enjoyed the creation process.
• During May 2024, the kid wanted to create his own texture for a minecraft item. The end result was... noobish, to say the least. Especially with the things he would make later on.
• But that didnt stop him, after a month, he improved on those textures and added 2 more with different styles.
• Now its summer time, July 2024. The kid had an idea after being fed up with his compatibility pack not working as he wanted,
-- "How about i add more thing to improve compatibility?"
• So within the month, he would add more animations, textures, models, all to ensure the pack working like how he wanted it to be. Granted, it needed some improvement, but he was satisfied. And on July 23 2024, Cake's D°Uzi Craft Java Parity Pack (jesus that name was long) was born.
• After taking a week break, expecting to begin again once school starts, he realised thst he enjoyed the making process of said pack, and wanted to improve upon it. So within 2 weeks, the pack would get numerous updates, adding more things to make it unique. But school would start at the end of August, and so, he decided to stop for months.
• "I may take 2-3 months before im back into work on this" was the amount of time he expecting to take away from the pack, but during september, he would make a backpack cape that would start to gain traction.
• By the end of November 2024, he had an idea to remaster that pack, into a cosmetic pack, and would spend the rest of December to create Cake's Cosmetic Pack.
• One thing that lead him far was the idea of compatibility. Since most people would used multiple packs, he would start multiple projects with the idea that people would use most of them. Said projects allowed him to understand way more what is a resource pack and push some limits on it.
• Skipping to April 2025, I had an idea for Cake's D°Uzi Craft Java Parity pack, an overhaul if you said. And as a thank you for everyone who has lead me here, i would spend the next 2 months on this project.
Yes, I was that kid.
Yes, D°Uzi Craft was that first pack.
And yes, Java Aspects was that second pack.
But if you didnt care about the story and wanted a TL;DL: Life and other projects just got in the way, okay?
Anyways, after all of that, onto the changelog! And this is what 83 days of constant development does to a "minor update".
CHANGES AND ADDITIONS:
• All Java Parity Changes in are now in the Java Parity Subpack. Select it via the Subpack button. -- These seperated changes now have their own subsection, making newer changelogs more readable! --- Certain grouped changes, additions and fixes that only affect the Java Parity Subpack will have a (JAVA PARITY ONLY) tag next to them. • Remade every changed tool. Yes, all of them. -- I could describe each item, but how about you go compare them yourself? -- (JAVA PARITY ONLY) There is also a unique item pose for shovels. It'll be improved later. • Added copper tools textures for the next drop. -- I didnt test them to see if they appear ingame however, so do let me know if they dont appear in the latest beta/preview. • Most throwables are now the same sized and square. • Multiple particle Changes: -- Portal themed particles (including ender chest, eye of ender and enderman particles) and redstone particles have a unique texture and glows in the dark. -- Basic smoke is more cloudy. -- Anger particles are simpler. -- Fire particles are much brigher. -- Firefly Particles look more glowy. -- (JAVA PARITY ONLY) Imported Aspect's explosion particles, with the exception of the dragon dying explosion due to issues, and upscaled a couple of explosion particles that AgentMindStorm forgot. -- A unique flame texture now appears on torches and soul torches, along with the flame lasting longer. • Changed a couple of UI icons. Here are the list of them: -- Experience and Horse Bar -- Experience Nub -- Hunger Icons -- Half Armor bar -- Normal and Empty bubble -- Most previously changed effects -- Absorption effect -- Haste -- Conduit power -- Mining Fatigue -- Anvil Hammer Icon -- Invisibility -- Water Breathing • Added D°Uzi Craft 1.9 compatibility. • Massively improved the looks of piglins: -- Archer Piglins will still look mostly the same, while Brawler Piglins are fully remade, similar to Minecraft Dungeons. --- All of these variants are now item dependant, instead of randomized! ---- Their model now uses the vanilla piglin model, instead of their own. -- Oh and dont worry, Zombified Piglins will get their retexture another time. -- Removed their unique attack animation due to it possibly containing offensive imagery. • Changed Pigs: -- Tweaked pig ear wobbling. -- Saddle now use a unique model to avoid Z-fighting on cold pigs. -- Slightly improved performance with the Technoblade crown. • Seperated the Blaze Wither and Charged Creeper's body and glow, preventing the glow from turning red when hit. • Blazes now bob their head up and down. • Hearts particles are bigger, last longer and matches D°Uzi Craft 1.8. -- It hasnt been mentioned in the D°Uzi Craft 1.9 Changelog, but the heart animation is apart of that pack. I just changed it to how it used to be, but animated. • Changed Villagers: -- Tweaked plains biome texture. -- Unique textures for baby Zombie Villagers! This is noticeable on desert, savannas, swamps and jungle babies. -- They now sit when on boats, entities or minecarts. --- This doesnt lower their hitbox, only visually change it so that they aren't standing at all times, similar to Fresh Animations. • End crystals look more crystalized along with the glyphs being outside of the crystal itself. • Gave Crafting tables a more rustic look. • Armor stands now are based on the player model, making them look less flimsy. -- (JAVA PARITY ONLY) The armor stand no longer transations in between poses. --- Reenabled their hurt overlays to make sense due to hurt sounds still playing. • Creeper, Chicken, Pig, sheep and creaking spawn eggs represent their D°UziCraft model and texture. • Bedrock is alot smoother to the eye and has a unique pattern. • Improved netherite block and ingot. • All Grass Sides (Excluding Nether Nylium) are much lower and remade Dirt. -- Grass also has a new look! The top is smoother and varied and the sides is lower. --- Ground Cover were also lighten up due to this change to improve ground blending. ---- Their carried textures were also brightened. -- Also readded dirt variants. • Mycelium now plays rooted dirt sounds. • Chests now have hinges in their back. • Thicken the border on most signs to not obstruct text. • Beds are now slightly 3D. • Dragon Eggs have a block shape once again. • Maps background are more detailed and uses the same colours as the item texture. -- Also added an easter egg when the map's contents takes too long to load or is empty :) • Improved the texture of all torches. -- This also fixes the Torch model. No new redstone torch model however, its been almost a year Mojang. • Rain is brighter, more gray and transparent. -- Also temporary disabled the splash particle, for now. Will change in the future. • Witches are closer to Minecraft Legends. (-5/10 game, would not recommend) • Sand is more wavy, but the vanilla variant is still present. • Improved arrow model: -- Optimised model. -- Now uses the arrow item. -- Unstreched model. • Squarified the front of barrels. • Remade the trident, for the 4th time... -- But with a more vanilla approach. • Changed Noteblocks and Jukeboxes. • Changed Enderman and Endermites. -- Endermites also now has a emissive texture. • Improved Sheeps: -- Increased their size to be more vanilla and hitbox consistent. -- 40% of sheeps now have a top part. • Changed Magma Cubes. • Name tags are more paper-like. • Blaze Rods don't look as messy as before. • All Apples are 2.5D. -- I've also ran out of space for the Enchanted Golden Apple Glow for its texture. • Remade Diamond and Gold Blocks with a mix between early 1.14 textures and their modern design. -- Diamond Blocks also have a unique top and bottom texture to connect it's texture more. • Enchanting Tables are gilded on the sides. • Changed leaves: -- Falling Leaves particles are more varied and detailed and move exactly like Cherry Leaves particles. -- Dark Oak Leaves textures are grayscaled instead of copy-pasted Pale Oak Leaves. • The Golden Helmet is now a crown. -- It has also been renamed to "Golden Crown" on both Englishes and Frenches cause these are the only languages that I can translate. -- Special thanks to D°Uzi for the Spanish translation. • Retextured End Stone and brighten the center of Chorus Plant. • Changed 2 Creeper biome textures to give slight lore. • Wither skeletons now have a chance to spawn with damaged gold armor and they now used the player attack animation. -- Some of them also have the chance to have a piglin head. -- The damaged armor doesnt affect gameplay. • All Command Blocks have been improved to be both pixel consistent and match their animated texture. Yes, all of them. • Some Chase The Skies changes: -- Happy Ghasts, Ghastlings, the fourth stage of a Dried Ghast and regular Ghast are tinted, similar to itspete3k's (@itspete3k on Twitter/X) Ghast retextures. -- Ghastlings looks happier! -- Happy Ghasts also retain their bloody gills after growing up. Shouldn't make sense but it makes them more distinct. -- Some regular Ghasts have a chance to use the vanilla shooting texture. --- (JAVA PARITY ONLY) Said texture no longer glows in the dark. • Regular Squids look a little bit more realistic. • Lowered the shield when riding a mount. This is good for Happy Ghast, Horse and Camel riders. • Spiders no longer have bending limbs to look more vanilla. -- Cave Spiders also have CHONKEEE LEEGS (cant you tell that this update took a while) • Added Dead Bush variants. • Tweaked flower pots. • Some Villagers now have a chance to show a shaved beard. • Readded extended "Nuance1" song, with the disadvantage of an increased file size. • Added Legacy Console Dried Kelp. • Withers properly look at their target in the X Axis. • Clouds patterns have been updated to use their modern texture. • Added String detail. • Brought back String-coloured Leads. • Seperated Pig's ear bobbing animation. • Improved the Wither's glow. • Remade the crawling animation entirely for personal preference and improved transitions on the Java Parity Subpack. -- (JAVA PARITY ONLY) Transations mainly looks best when standing still with normal skins, but ill improve upon it in another update! • Dark Oak Logs has the same pattern as Pale Oak Logs. • Overhauled the Eye of Ender animation. -- It also sounds and looks really good with both Java Aspects and the Java Parity Subpack. • Added 2 files to optimise the pack: -- "textures_list.json" is meant to be a sort of cache for bedrock resource packs, especially packs with numerous textures (like this one!). --- If you're wondering what a "cache" is, it locally saves data through a file, making loading much faster as it uses said cache to access the data rather than using the raw data itself. -- "contents.json" should allow browsing through a file's contents, but its unsure if it actually has an effect. Why not add it? • Book & Quill and a Written Book now uses the same book as the Regular Book. -- To differentiate the Written Book from the Regular Book, the Written Book will still have the feather. • Pale Oak wood set improvements: -- Overhauled all pale oak sounds and extended the sounds to the rest of the wood set. --- (JAVA PARITY ONLY) Linear attenuation has also been added for place and breaking sounds. Sadly, the rest of the sounds doesnt seem to be affect by it. ---- Said attenuation is noticeable as blocks are that placed are still loud despite being far. -- Signs now uses stripped Pale Oak Logs breaking particles. --- In the future, this will extent to other signs. -- Added unique Pressure Plate texture which is missing from D°Uzi Craft 1.9. --- The file paths are the same so that once its added it can be removed easily. -- Trapdoor texture is no longer misaligned. • Was a last update feature but, brighten Armor Enchanted Glint. ----------------- Java Parity Only Section:
-----------------
• Added the following changes for Default Textures compatibility for Java Aspects:
-- Missing Animated block shadings
-- Java consistent Xp bar

-- Granted, the arm doesnt transition smoothly in the Z-Axis or when the drowned has a trident, but its fine for now.

PACK DOCUMENTS:
• Renamed and changed pack icon description due to its new vision.
• All mentions of "Cake of Craft" is now "CakeofCraft".
• Trimmed Humanoid entity files to only feature necessary changes, reducing file size.
-- But as you can see, that didn't help for long.
• Piglin's quiver model is its own model.
• Remade Changelog.txt to match CakeofCraft's other packs.
-- The order of updates by date has also been flipped.
-- The order of older changelogs hasnt changed, just the visuals.
-- I also included version 2.4.2, an unreleased hotfix that was suppose to have the trident positions fully match Java, haven't life gotten into the way.
• Added an "Unused.zip" file, with features that are either unused by default or are in development but arent used due to issues, here are the list of the current features:
-- Seperated Llama carpets, having issues with Trader Llama
-- Camel looking at entities, trying to diable looking animation while dashing and being ridden
-- Locator content errors fix, bug isnt related to Cake's D°Uzi Tweaks and lead locator is floating
-- Java recipe book icons code, isnt pixel consistent, only replace with the current used ui on Java Parity Subpack
-- Wolf collar and ashen wolf fix, trying to keep mob colours unchanged while preventing tinting
-- villagers java profession textures, same reason as wolf but for biome clothes
-- 3d nether and overworld fungi, need to implement 2D textures in inventory/mainhand

• Removed Mace Swing animation due to changes made in Aspects 6.3.0.
• Updated and remade Credits.txt.
• Changed the pack's minimum version to 1.21.70.
-- This means that its impossible to use the pack on older versions.
• Changed Uuid in order to prevent replacing the pack’s contents.
• Changed Version number to 3.0.0.
NOTES:
• If you think this is a brand new pack, well ill be damped if you didnt read the changelog enough.
• (JAVA PARITY ONLY) For some reason, Drowned are broken on certain worlds on 1.21.92/93, so make sure to update Minecraft to fix this, as its a Minecraft bug.
• Torches wont have glow for a while to ensure compatibility with other resource packs due to way i wanted to implement it. This is an issue caused by Minecraft, not this pack. I've made a bug report about This issue here: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE/issues/MCPE-223297
-- Additionally, applying the carried torch flame particle will break its position on the player. The bug can be found here: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE/issues/MCPE-160960
• (POSSIBLY JAVA PARITY ONLY) Sometimes, when the content GUI is enabled on the Java Parity subpack, some errors aside of the usual geometry error may appear. They dont affect gameplay.
• If anyone was asking if the 1.21.100 default hurt overlay match Java Edition, id assume not, as Aspects uses a transparency of 35% instead of 25%.
-- If the hurt overlay changes doesnt stick on Aspects, then ill delete it to match that pack.
• A thrown trident fix model was provided to ensure that it works with the thrown trident model. DO NOT remove the model.
• Above certain JSON files, if you see the words "NOT [name]", this is to specify that a JSON was NOT made by that person, even if it seems similar.
• Here is an little insight on updates:
-- Updates will only arrive when ready, or when necessary. I dont want to rush things out or even add compatibility for drops if the update itself is unfinished. Be patient in between gaps of updates.
• You rememeber how one of the main known issues are the sea of content errors? Well upon analysing, most are caused by D°Uzi Craft itself, not this pack or Java Aspects! The ones by Aspects are ironed out within atleast every update, while most, if not, all of the others that are here are fixed in this update. Some by D°UziCraft are even fixed here.
-- I was able to fix some of the errors present in D°Uzi Craft because who would want to see these? They clutter the screen when enabled and makes some players think they did something wrong.
-- Now is an important time to mention this, if you see an issue with either D°UziCraft or this pack, report it to us as soon as possible! Well will try and see if we can fix it within the next update. There are many way you can contact us, either through Twitter/X, Discord or Planet Minecraft.
• If someone finds a fix for baby item positions, please sent it to D°Uzi! The issue originates from D°Uzi Craft and not this pack aswell.
• Why does the update have 3 different names? well i couldnt choose between which one, but all of them fit in their own way: a pack made out of love, a celebration and a improved version of an existing pack.
• Since the update is complete, ill relax and put my head down for the rest of the summer before starting or continuing any projects in order to avoid burnout, but before that, some words of appreciation:
-- If you asked past me that within a year, ill be a somewhat well known resource pack creator, i wouldn't believe it. But now, that has become a reality, thanks to a idea of mine.
-- The year before July 2024 (or May) wasn't the best, especially in my school life, but things are much, much better now than before. And i think Cake's D°UziCraft Java Parity Pack was a start to this.
-- These projects will always be a passion project to me. I dont rush to release updates, i dont focus too hard on them if i feel tired, i make them simply for fun.
-- Even today, i still enjoy discovering the ins and outs of how resource packs are made along with making them and seeing how they can be pushed to create packs like Actions & Stuff.
-- Before ending things off, let me thank some people that massively helped me along the way:
--- D°Uzi, You have something special with D°Uzi Craft, its the main reason why im have ties with you and at the position i am today. Your talent as an artist shows. D°Uzi Craft will be a resource pack that will hold a special place in my heart for a while.
--- AgentMindStorm, The work you've put on Aspects is amazing and unbelievable, just seeing how it started from a one man idea, to something many people enjoy and contribute. I would also thank you and some of your contributors that allowed me to use their assets to make my first pack come to a reality. Your work is also a helpful example to learning the more complex things about resource packs, such as math-based animations and variables. Again, thank you for creating and mainting Aspects and here to see it reach 100% accuracy.
--- Mojang (and a bit Microsoft), for creating the game we all know, and allow us creators to modify it to our heart's cotent.
--- Bedrock Dev Discord server, For the many people who had questions that i was looking for, and the answers that were there to help me.
--- Adventure Plus, for the Initial reason why I made Cake's Backpacks (now Cake's Cosmetic Pack)
--- GoldenFrog's Ore UI pack, for the main reaso. why Cake's Ore UI exist.
--- Arxance and tlgm2308, for allowing me to see and use some of your work for Cake's Ore UI.
--- Maintainers of wiki.bedrock.dev and bedrock.dev, for having proper documentation and guides for bedrock resource packs.
--- Curseforge, for allowing to monetise off my work a little bit.
--- MCPEDL, Planet Minecraft, ModBay and Curseforge, for giving me an outlet to showcase my packs.
--- And you, for checking out, downloading and using my packs along with giving feedback <3
-- Once more, I thank all viewers who has been on this journey, everyone who was been mentioned and i have thanked and all my IRL friends, classmates and teachers for keeping me more positive than ever.
Written by yours truly,
CakeofCraft, Creator of Cake's D°Uzi Tweaks, Cake's Cosmetic Pack, Cake's Ore UI, Cake Totem of Undying and Slim Skin Fixer.
