merchantmind bedrock port

MerchantMind (Bedrock) adds AI shopkeepers & combat. Honestly? Opening the shop menu is significantly worse than Java. Bedrock limits stripped away Auto Restock and Iron Slot for Instant entirely. Worse UI, missing features, but works!

Merchant Mind (Bedrock Edition Port)

Merchant Mind (Bedrock Port) brings the ultimate shopkeeper experience straight to Minecraft Bedrock Edition! Packed with a dynamic rotating shop, a fully custom economy, real-time installment reservations, auto-restocking, quantity-based purchasing, quantity-aware packaging and delivery, and Charge & Slam combat mechanics — all built to elevate your Bedrock world.

Features

The Shop System

Access a feature-rich, dynamic Shop System built right into your world.

The shop features a rotating catalog of items organized into 10 distinct categories:

Weapon, Armor, Tools, Resources, Blocks, Utility, Food, Redstone, Decor, and Rare.

  • Each category maintains its own independent inventory and restock state.
  • Stock selection is dynamically randomized to keep trading fresh and unpredictable.
  • Each shop item now has its own available stock quantity.
  • Stock quantities are randomized during restock and balanced according to the item's price.
  • Each category automatically restocks on its own independent timer.
  • Items can be purchased in multiple quantities when enough stock is available.
  • Shop entries display the current available stock of each item.

Restock System

Keep the economy flowing with multiple automated and manual restock options:

Auto Restock

  • Every category has its own independent auto restock timer.
  • The default auto restock wait is 1 minute 10 seconds.
  • The restock process itself takes 5 seconds.
  • After each completed restock, the category's auto restock timer starts again.
  • The current auto restock countdown is displayed directly inside the shop UI.
  • Global chat notifications keep all players updated when a category starts and finishes restocking.
  • When all categories enter restocking together, the notification is grouped into a single message.
  • When all categories finish restocking together, the completion notification is also grouped into a single message and includes the next restock countdown.
  • Restocking generates fresh quantities for shop items while preserving items that are currently reserved or in the packaging phase.

Restock Timer Command

  • Use /mtxt:restock_set <second> [minute] [hours] to change the auto restock wait time.
  • The total time must be at least 1 second.
  • The new timer setting applies to every shop category.
  • Ready categories have their timers restarted when the setting is changed.
  • The command works without requiring cheats.

Iron Instant Restock

  • Skip the wait! Players can spend 2 Iron Ingots to instantly refresh a selected shop category.
  • Instant restock immediately generates fresh stock while preserving items that are currently reserved or in the packaging phase.

Manual Restock

  • Manually start a 30-second restock for a selected category.
  • Broadcasts the restocking action along with the player name to the entire server.

Live Shop UI Updates

Shop menus can automatically refresh when shop data changes:

  • Category menus update when players enter or leave a category.
  • Shop menus update when stock or restock states change.
  • The UI can automatically close and reopen to display fresh information.
  • A manual Refresh option is also available for updating the displayed countdown and shop information.
  • Available shop items display their current stock so players can see how many items remain before purchasing.
  • Out-of-stock items can no longer be purchased until the next applicable restock.

Reservations & Installment Payments

Can't afford that legendary item right now? Use the Reservation and Installment System!

  • Reserve high-tier items and pay for them in smaller installments over time.
  • Strict 15-Minute Deadline: Enforced using real-time timestamps rather than relying only on the displayed timer.
  • Rules:
    • Timer triggers the moment the reservation is created.
    • Making partial payments does not reset or extend the 15-minute limit.
    • If the timer hits zero before the full amount is paid, the reservation expires, and the item goes back on the market!
  • Reserved purchases continue to respect the item's remaining stock before the purchase is completed.
  • Final payment only succeeds when the required stock is still available.

Global Reservation Expiration Warnings

Stay informed! Expiration alerts are broadcasted via global chat:

  • ⚠️ 2 Minutes Remaining
  • ⚠️ 1 Minute Remaining
  • ⚠️ 30 Seconds Remaining
  • ⚠️ 10 Seconds Remaining

Each alert triggers exactly once per reservation, giving players plenty of warning without spamming the chat.

Item Purchasing & Payment System

Direct purchases now support buying multiple units of the same item in a single transaction.

  • Selecting Buy opens the quantity-selection interface when multiple units are available.

  • The selected quantity must always be at least 1.

  • The purchase total is calculated using:

Unit Price × Quantity = Total Price

  • The latest stock amount is checked again when the purchase is submitted.

  • Players cannot purchase more than the available stock.

  • Players cannot complete a purchase without enough coins.

  • Payment validation occurs before stock is consumed.

  • Failed purchases do not intentionally remove coins or stock.

  • Single-stock items use a direct one-item purchase flow instead of an invalid 0–1 quantity selection.

  • Purchase validation errors are shown as Purchase Error instead of incorrectly using Payment Error.

  • Error dialogs use a single OK button instead of displaying an unused blank button.

Item Packaging System

Once an item is fully paid off, or a direct purchase has been successfully submitted, it enters a dedicated packaging phase:

  • Live packaging progress is displayed through the player's on-screen action bar.
  • 10-Second Packaging Time: Once packaging is complete, the purchased item or items are delivered to the player.
  • Purchased quantities are preserved throughout the packaging process.
  • Multiple purchased items are delivered according to the selected purchase quantity.
  • Large deliveries are automatically split into valid item stacks when necessary.
  • Failed deliveries remain in the packaging state so they can be handled again instead of being incorrectly marked as completed.
  • Remaining shop stock is preserved after delivery.
  • A shop item only becomes sold out when its remaining stock reaches zero.
  • Per-Player Tracking: Every player's packaging process is tracked independently — no mixed-up notifications or private message leaks!

Per-World Isolated Economies

Every world you play on is completely independent:

  • Item inventories, restock timers, reservations, and player coin balances save locally to that specific world.
  • Switching worlds starts a fresh, isolated economy. Nothing is carried over or shared!

Smart Selling

Earn coins quickly by selling your surplus loot:

  • Items are sold for 70% of their WORTH value.
  • Dirt sells for a flat 1 coin per item, regardless of its WORTH value.
  • Single-item stacks can be sold directly without opening a quantity slider.

Combat Adjustments

Merchant Mind comes with built-in combat tweaks to refine your gameplay:

  • Slam Charge: Hold a sword or axe to charge your attack. Hitting an entity after charging deals additional bonus damage based on the charge level.
  • Mob Suppression: Skeletons and baby zombies have an 83% chance to be removed instantly upon spawning, reducing annoying clutter.
  • Item Clearing: Clean up world performance instantly by clearing all dropped items.

If you want to play on a Minecraft Bedrock version older than 1.26.50, edit the manifest.json file:

  1. Change min_engine_version to the Minecraft version you want the mod to work with.
  2. Change the module versions for @minecraft/server and @minecraft/server-ui to versions supported by the Minecraft Bedrock version you are using.

You can ask an AI which module versions are compatible with your Minecraft version, or look up the supported versions yourself.

Note: This method may or may not work correctly. Compatibility is not guaranteed, so use it at your own risk.
