VillagerRising

Villagers finally get real jobs - builders that build houses block by block, miners that dig proper mine shafts, chefs that cook you dinner - and a rogue villager army marching in to take it all off you.

Description

Villager Rising turns villagers from people who stand about humming into a village that actually builds itself.

Six villagers with real jobs

  • Builder - lays a house one block at a time, floor first, then the walls, then a stepped roof, then the furniture. When it is done, a villager moves in.
  • Miner - digs a real mine shaft down to y=-20, two blocks wide and three tall, with lit stairs, a big hall and four branch tunnels. The ore drops on the floor for you to grab, and the mine shouts when it hits diamonds.
  • Chef - builds a kitchen with campfires, a cauldron and barrels, then hands out hot food to anyone standing nearby. Sometimes cake.
  • Guard, Knight and Archer - armed and armoured, and they fight for you.

Houses that repair themselves

Smash a hole in a villager house and a builder turns up and patches it. Blow one up with TNT and it still gets fixed. Buildings are remembered when you leave the world, so they keep repairing themselves next time you play - and nothing ever gets built on top of them.

A whole village, instantly

One item - the Mega Village Builder - raises a village with a townhall, houses, farms, towers and wells, wrapped in The Great Wall: 1200 blocks across, five thick, ten tall, with four gates and soldiers patrolling the top. Every building is always at least four blocks from its neighbours.

…and an army that wants it

Blow the War Horn and a rogue villager army marches on you: soldiers, a captain, and The Villager King himself, who drops treasure when you beat him.

How to start

You need cheats ON and the Beta APIs experiment switched ON (see Requirements). Then type:

Command What happens
/scriptevent vp:crew Six builders turn up and start building houses
/scriptevent vp:mine Three miners dig a mine shaft
/scriptevent vp:chef Two chefs build a kitchen and feed you
/scriptevent vp:village The instant mega village + the Great Wall
/scriptevent vp:small A mini village, about 30 seconds
/scriptevent vp:fix Repair every damaged house around you right now
/scriptevent vp:raid Summon an army raid on yourself
/scriptevent vp:stop Cancel a village that is still being built
/scriptevent vp:test Self test - says exactly what is not working

You can also get the villagers from the Creative menu as spawn eggs.

Requirements (IMPORTANT)

  • Minecraft Bedrock Edition 1.21.80 or newer
  • Cheats: ON (the village builder uses commands)
  • Experiments -> Beta APIs: ON - without this Minecraft loads the pack but silently refuses to run the script, so nothing happens at all
  • Both the behaviour pack and the resource pack must be active

Install

  1. Download the .mcaddon
  2. Open it - Minecraft imports both packs on its own
  3. Make a world (or edit one), add Villager Rising under Behaviour Packs and Resource Packs
  4. Turn Cheats on, and Settings -> Experiments -> Beta APIs on
  5. Play, then type /scriptevent vp:crew

This is original work, not a port or a remix of anybody else's add-on. The behaviour script is around 1,650 lines written by hand, and every texture in the pack is drawn programmatically by a Python script in the project - there is no imported artwork of any kind.

Please do not re-upload this to other sites - link to this page instead.
