Spidi's Cobblestone Generator

If you want an efficient cobblestone generator with no fuss then this block is for you.

Simply craft it with Stone, Water Bucket, Lava Bucket, and a Block of Gold in the following recipe:

Then place your block in the world:

Then simply put a normal minecraft chest above it to start it filling with Cobblestone:

If you right click on the generator you can configure the amount, and how often that happens in ticks:
