RR Chat Stats - Activity Tracker

Whats up guys Racing Raftaar here again. Today i am bringing you a really unique and fun addon for your multiplayer servers and realms. So i was playing on my survival multiplayer world with my friends the other day and i noticed that we spend half of our time just chatting with each other. We talk about builds, coordinate mining trips, and just joke around. But the vanilla minecraft chat is just a boring text box. You type something and it disappears. There is no reward or tracking for people who are super active in the community. I wanted to change that completely and make chatting feel like a mini game itself. So I spent the last few days coding the RR Chat Stats addon. This is going to make your server so much more interactive and competitive.

​How The Tracking Works

The main feature of this addon is the background tracking system. From the moment you install this on your world, the addon starts monitoring the chat activity of every single player. It tracks three main things. First it tracks your total messages sent. Every time you send a message it counts it. Second it tracks the total number of words you type. So if you write long paragraphs you will get a huge word count score. And third it tracks your commands. If you type anything that starts with an exclamation mark, the addon counts it as a command. This is super cool for servers that have custom chat commands for different things. All of this data is saved permanently for each player so even if you leave the server your stats are totally safe and will be there when you come back.

​Custom Items And Menus

To make it easy for everyone to see their stats without typing confusing slash commands, I added a really cool item menu system. When a new player joins the world for the first time, they automatically receive three specific items in their inventory. You get a Writable Book, a Spyglass, and a Copper Ingot. I completely changed how the Writable Book works. Now when you hold the book and use it, it opens a custom chat menu on your screen. You type your message in there and it sends it to the server while tracking your stats. If you hold the Spyglass and use it, it cancels the normal zoom effect and instead opens your personal Chat Stats menu. Here you can see exactly how many messages and words you have typed, check your unlocked achievements, and see your rank on the server. And finally if you use the Copper Ingot it opens the Global Leaderboard. This shows the top 10 most active chatters on your entire server. People get so competitive trying to get the number one spot on the leaderboard.

​Chat Achievements

I also added an achievement system just to give you guys something to grind for while talking. There are six different chat achievements you can unlock. You get First Words for sending your first message. Then there is Chatterbox for 100 messages, Talkative for 500 messages, and Motivational Speaker for 1000 messages. I also added a Commander achievement for using 50 commands and a Wordsmith achievement for typing 1000 total words. When you unlock one of these, it broadcasts a message to the whole server with your name, plays a loud level up sound, and spawns happy villager particles around you. It feels really rewarding.

​How To Apply In Minecraft

Installing this addon is super simple and takes like two minutes. First you just need to download the addon file from the link. If you are on a phone or pc just tap or double click the file and it will automatically open minecraft and import the addon. Then go to your world settings, click on behavior packs or add-ons, and activate the RR Chat Stats addon. Make sure it is at the top of your list so nothing else conflicts with it and overrides the features.

​Beta APIs Setup

Because this addon uses custom scripts to intercept the items you use and tracks all your chat messages with dynamic properties, you absolutely must turn on the Beta APIs in your world settings. Before you load the world go down to the experiments tab and turn on the Beta APIs toggle. If you forget to do this the items will just act like normal minecraft items and nothing will be tracked.
