🎢 [SG] RollerCoaster

Build real, rideable roller coasters in Minecraft Bedrock — loops, corkscrews, banked turns, lift hills, launches, multiple trains, and theme-park signs to go with them.

Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.130+ · Behavior + Resource pack (.mcaddon) · No experimental toggles needed

✨ Features

  • 🛤️ Track on any face — floors, walls and ceilings, so loops, helixes and corkscrews just work
  • 🔩 Two styles — Steel (8 paint colours) and Wooden (classic woodie look)
  • 🚃 Trains of 1–4 cars that ride with real physics — speed, g-forces, roll-backs
  • ⛓️ Lift hills, launches and brakes — just put a block under the track
  • 🚉 Stations that brake, load and launch trains by button, lever or redstone
  • 🔀 Switches to split and merge track
  • 🚦 Block sections so several trains can share one coaster without crashing
  • 🪧 Billboards and 💡 Marquee light signs (with scrolling text!) to name your rides

🚀 Quick Start

  1. 🚉 Place a Coaster Station on flat ground — it builds a 6 × 2 station with a loading platform.
  2. 🛤️ Lay track out of the station. Pieces line themselves up with the track you're attaching to.
  3. 🔁 Bring it back round to the other end of the station to close the loop.
  4. 🚃 Right-click the station with a Coaster Cart and pick 1–4 cars.
  5. 🧍 Sit in a car, then right-click the loading platform (or flip a lever next to the station) — you're off!

💡 Put a Chain Drive under the first piece of your lift hill so the train has something to climb with.

🧱 The Pieces

🛤️ Track

Every piece comes in Steel and Wooden. Steel and Wooden track never connect to each other — build each coaster in one style.

Steel Wooden Piece What it does
Coaster Station Builds a 6 × 2 station: brakes, loads and launches trains
Loading Platform Part of the station — right-click it to launch
Straight The basic piece
Flat Curve 90° turn on the flat
Slope Start Flat track starting to climb
Slope 45° climb or drop
Slope End Levels the track out again
Inside Curve Floor → wall (the inside of a loop)
Outer Curve 90 Over the edge of a block (drops, loops)
Outer Curve 180 Over the top of a pillar and back down
Tunnel Corner Roll (L / R) Barrel roll inside a 2 × 2 tunnel
Beam Corner Roll (L / R) Corkscrew around a 2 × 2 column
Lane Shift (L / R) Steps one lane sideways (used in rolls)
Bank Transition Leans the track into / out of a banked turn
Banked Curve Tight leaning turn
Wide Banked Curve Big sweeping leaning turn
Wide Banked Corner Corner block of the wide curve
Diagonal Straight Runs at 45° across the grid
Diagonal Curve Turns onto / off the diagonal
Switch One track in, two out — flip it with the Wrench or redstone

↔️ Left or right? Bank Transition, Wide Banked Curve, Diagonal Curve and Switch pick their hand by themselves — sneak while placing for the left-hand version. Corner Rolls and Lane Shifts come as separate Left and Right pieces.

⚙️ Blocks under the track

Place these underneath (or behind) a track piece — they work with any piece, Steel or Wooden.

  Block Effect
Chain Drive Pulls trains uphill and stops roll-backs (Wrench: 0.5 – 5 m/s)
Booster Launches trains up to 25 m/s
Brake Slows trains down
Section Break Holds a train until the track ahead is clear (for multi-train coasters)

🔧 Tools & cars

  Item Use
Coaster Wrench Station settings (launch speed, direction, physics, track paint) · flip switches · chain speed · rotate pieces · edit signs
Coaster Cart Right-click track to place a train (pick 1–4 cars). Right-click a car with a dye to paint it
Coaster Train Hit a parked train to pick the whole thing up as one item — it keeps its paint

🚉 Stations

  • 🎛️ Wrench the station for settings: launch speed, direction, physics or constant speed, and 🎨 paint the whole steel coaster in one go.
  • 🔴 Launch with the loading platform, a button, or a lever. Leave the lever on and trains go lap after lap.
  • 🛬 Arriving trains brake and stop at the front, ready to go again.

🚦 Running more than one train

  • Put a Section Break under the track to split the coaster into sections. A train waits at a Section Break until the section ahead is empty.
  • Rule of thumb: N trains need at least N + 1 holding points (stations + Section Breaks). The station tells you if you don't have enough.
  • With 2+ trains, trains never stall on open track — they creep forward to the next holding point.
  • 🔙 Recall all trains (station Wrench screen) brings everything safely back in.

🪧 Signs

  Billboard Marquee Sign
Look Smooth bold letters on a coloured board Bulb light board (yellow or red)
Size Any size, 2 × 1 up to 48 × 16 Small 16 × 4 · Medium 32 × 8 · Large 64 × 16
Text Up to 24 characters, sized to fill the board Up to 64 characters
Modes — Scrolling (Stopped / Slow / Mid / Fast) or Still: Two Lines
Night Letters glow Bulbs glow
Seen from ~70 blocks (best for queues & stations) Your full render distance (best for park entrances)
  • 📍 Place on the ground for a sign on a pole, or on a wall to hang it flat.
  • ✏️ Change the text and colours any time with the Wrench.
  • 🔨 Break any part to remove the whole sign and get the item back.

⌨️ Handy commands

Command
/rc:go [speed] Launch the nearest train (test runs)
/rc:stop Stop the car you're in
/rc:reset Give your camera and controls back if a ride leaves you stuck
/rc:clearcarts Remove every coaster car in the world

🛠️ Every piece has a survival crafting recipe — check your recipe book.
