3.0 Changelog: The Stats Update!
1 - Tools now show their stats!
Stats now show up in an item's lorepage! So now you can see everything from an item's
enchantment luck to its durability (excluding armor and toughness for now since they’re coming soon to the vanilla game)! ((also it doesn’t update your equipment slots yet. I’m working on that)).
2 - All nonvanilla Item stats have been reworked from the ground up.
Seeing as how Raid’s Stuff will be a long term project, and because I plan to use these items in my own maps going forwards, I took the time to go back and rework everything, not only balancing the custom items for both PvE and PvP, but making changing to add new tools much easier.
3 - Battleaxe, Katana, and Halberd changes
[*] Battleaxes now have a 3x1 mining pattern and no longer give you slowness
[*] Halberds no longer give any weakness
[*] Katanas now damage enemies when dashing
3 - The Lightning strike and Give Xp bonus effects are now standardized across gear
[*] If an Item has the Lightning Strike bonus effect, it will now always target any mobs, excluding the user, in a 3 block range
[*] If an item has the Give Xp bonus effect, it will now always give 3 xp when attacking
4 - Redstone Infused gear Reworked
[*] Infusing a gear with Redstone now gives +1 Infusion Bonus.
Redstone Infused Gear used to give the bonus effects of mining in 1x2 pattern, hitting multiple enemies at once, and having a thorns-like counterhit every time the player was damaged.
This was not only very powerful, but completely different from the other infusions which only messed with item stats and didn’t give bonus abilities.
While I plan to bring back these bonus effects in the future in some way, I thought it would be best to rework Redstone Infusions to better fit with the others.
5 - Ruby, Brass, and Emerald Gear now have stats different from Iron and Diamond tools!
[*] Because it is now so easy to mess with the stats, I decided to change how these materials work!
6 - Emerald Tools can now be enchanted
[*] People didn’t like that they couldn’t enchant them
7 - Bug Fixes
[*] Custom Hoes and Shovels now use durability when tilling or pathing blocks
[*] Infused Brass Armor now show up when equipped
[*] Other fixes
Looking into the future.
This update took forever, and while I am glad that I am finally releasing it, I still don’t think it’s all complete; however, I just need to accept that it’s not perfect and I can improve it later.
I really focused on the custom tools. I removed a lot of their power so that the they no longer overshadow the vanilla ones and can be used for both PvP and PvE.
The next couple of updates are likely going to be small fixes to this one, and I will be fixing up the project page to account for the all the new tool changes.
I am sad that this update did not add anything big (on the player's side. I did a lot of general "cleaning up" behind the scenes), but I’m glad that I was able to make an update like this---one that lays the groundwork for bigger and better features in the future.
