"Phoenix Family" introduces human NPCs to Minecraft. Players can flirt, chat, and trade with NPCs, even building relationships by marrying and creating a family. Enjoy a vibrant, personal Minecraft world where these connections enhance your gameplay.
This addon does not use experimental methods and will work in all versions from the publication or above.
The entities are humanoid, not villagers!

⚠️ Important Update Notice
Change from player.name to player.id
In this update, player.name has been replaced with player.id to improve compatibility with servers, Realms, and future Minecraft changes.
This change will break all existing player-to-player marriages, since relationships were previously based on player names, which can change. Now, marriages are linked to the player’s unique ID, which ensures that even if you change your name, you will remain married.
💔 To fix this issue, you must divorce and remarry. This only needs to be done once.
We know this might be inconvenient, but it was necessary to ensure long-term stability, compatibility, and proper functionality.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support!
New Reputation System
Reputation is currently one of the most important systems for building romantic or friendly relationships with NPCs in the world.
NPCs remember everything — your good actions… and your bad ones. You decide if you want to be a revered hero or a feared menace.
🔻 You lose reputation if:
You hit or kill an NPC.
divorce
🔺 You gain reputation if:
You interact with an NPC for the first time.
You complete missions.
You kill mobs that harmed the NPC (like zombies).
You receive the Hero of the Village effect for the first time.
Warning: Losing points is much easier than gaining them. Be careful with your choices!
How does it affect gameplay?
For every +10 positive points, you gain a +2% success chance in interactions affected by the NPC’s personality.
For every -10 negative points, you lose -2% effectiveness.
Will you reach 100% and be loved by all... or drop to 0% and be rejected by everyone?
Note: This system does not affect your partner if you're already married.
Reputation States:
Rejected— Negative points.
indifferent— 0 to 49 points.
Respected— 50 to 79 points.
Venerated— 80+ points.
How to interact
First, find a village to locate NPCs. Select the one you like and right-click or tap "interact" on touch devices to open the interaction menu, which includes:
Interact: Allows you to chat, flirt, hug, or give gifts to the NPC. We’ll explain more on these options later.
Change Movement: Control the NPC's movements to fit your needs.
Trade: Lets you trade with the NPC and receive various items.
To Ride a Mob: Choose to mount or dismount an entity.
Specials: Contains advanced interactions not fitting in the main menu, especially useful for smaller screens.
Close: This button closes the interaction menu.
Interact
Chatting
Chatting is a new way to interact with NPCs.
This mode allows you to have friendly conversations, just like with neighbors or friends. (Note: This does not generate love points, it’s simply casual conversation.)
Sometimes you can earn a reputation point if the conversation goes well.
If you have good reputation, NPCs may give you gifts!
NPCs sometimes remember if you've done missions for others or if you’ve killed an NPC.
If your reputation is low and you killed someone, they’ll remind you more often.
In cases of bad reputation, chatting can even cause you to lose a point instead of gaining one.
Be careful with your actions! Reputation affects how NPCs speak to you.
In this submenu, you'll find various interactions. How the NPC responds depends on their relationship with you (married or single). If they're single, their personality decides the outcome, so get ready for anything!
Tell a Joke: Feeling funny? Try telling a joke; maybe they'll laugh, and you’ll earn some love points… or maybe they’ll be annoyed and you’ll lose some. Some call it luck, I call it programming.
Give a Hug: Give them a hug… but respect their personal space; let's avoid awkwardness.
Tell a Story: Share your story; maybe they’ll love it, maybe they’ll fall asleep. If you stretch the truth a bit, who knows, it might sound more interesting. Take your chances!
Next: As mentioned, only six buttons fit, so here’s where you find more options.
Return: Takes you back to the original menu if you change your mind.
Flirt: Feeling romantic? Go for it. Just know they might not be into it… unless they don’t usually receive many compliments
Handshake: Give a friendly handshake; it’s classic and simple.
Give a Gift: They say it's the thought that counts, but NPCs are programmed to be a bit picky. Whatever’s in your hand when you click will be their gift. Note: If it’s a sword or armor, they won’t equip it—there’s another button for that, which we’ll explain later.
Kiss: Go for a kiss? Try your luck.
Return: This button brings you back to the previous menu if needed.
Change Movement
In the Change Movement submenu, you can manage how your NPC moves.
Move Freely: Let the NPC wander wherever it wants; this is the default setting. Sometimes, like in Guardian mode, it will auto-select this option.
Stay Still: For those times when you want them to stay put, without moving an inch.
Follow Me: The perfect classic button to lead the NPC back home.
Return: Go back to the previous menu if you want to make other changes.
Trade
When you press Trade, the next time you interact, surprise! The usual interaction menu won’t open; instead, the NPC's trade options will appear.
If you want to exit this mode, there’s no return button. Just press***SNEAK (shift)**** in the game and interact again. This will close the trade mode.
To Ride a Mob
In the To Ride a Mob submenu, you can manage how your NPC rides:
To Ride a Horse: Approach a horse, and your NPC will mount it. But beware, if there’s no horse nearby, they’ll get angry.
To Ride a Camel: Option to ride a camel. Perfect for desert adventures!
Stop Ride: If you want them to get off the horse or camel without harming it, select this option.
Return: Go back to the previous menu when needed.

Ask for Marriage
Before explaining this button, let’s discuss Love Points. Every time you have a romantic interaction, you can gain or lose points, which are reflected here (see image).
Now, when you press the Ask for Marriage button, you'll enter that mode with the wedding ring, which you can craft in the game. To "tame" or propose, right-click or select "interact" with the ring.
If you have less than 11 points, your chance of marrying is 0%.
With 11 points, you'll have a 10% chance.
With 21 points, it’s a 20% chance.
With 31 points, you’ll have a 30% chance.
...
With 91 points, it’s a 90% chance.
And if you reach 100 points, you’ll have a 100% chance of marrying!
If you have second thoughts or aren’t ready for the commitment, clicking without the ring will trigger a warning. You’ll need to decide whether to proceed or not.
When you are married, it will be reflected here as their marital status, and it will now say married.
Establish Home and Go Home
Need an explanation? When you press Establish Home, the NPC will save their home at the coordinates where you were standing at the moment you clicked this button.
When you select Go Home, the NPC will teleport to that saved location.
Show Personality
Having trouble gaining points? Think you’re not good at flirting? Don’t worry; this is an add-on designed to respond based on something called Personality. Each NPC has a randomly chosen personality that influences how they react to your interactions.
Note for the user: We want to make it clear that this add-on does not seek to reinforce stereotypes, and we ask that you do not apply the game data to real life. Thank you for your understanding!
For every +10 reputation points, interaction success rates increase by +2%. For every -10 points, they decrease by -2%.

The Show Personality button is available in the special button menu. If you have more than 10 hearts, the NPC can reveal its personality to you.
Socialize
Hey, have you noticed that your village feels empty? You need more humans! The Socialize mode allows single NPCs to have children with each other, creating new humans. However, you’ll need a love potion for this to work. While they are babies, their interactions will be quite limited—after all, they are just babies!
You’ll see hearts appearing. You need 2 NPCs, regardless of their type, and they will have a baby.
To exit, simply right-click or press interact without the potion, and two buttons will appear:
Exit SM (Socialize Mode): to leave this mode and return to normality.
Close: to close this mini menu.
When you are married, you receive new buttons in the special menu. This is great!
Works
You can only put a married entity to work
This will depend on their profession, which is reflected here (see image). Currently, we have:
Farmer: They will farm for you. It's best to enclose them with fences in the crop field so they don't escape and cover the water or it gets stuck, take precautions
Miner: Do you want someone to notify you when there are minerals every 30 seconds? You might be wondering where those nearby minerals are.
The radius is 6. Do you need more information about where they are? Ummm, I'm afraid that will cost you exactly 8 emeralds. Give them to the entity, and in the next message, they will come back with coordinates, easy as that.
Librarian: Do you have a book with Fortune II? Want to duplicate it to combine and get Fortune III, but can’t? Your librarian entity can clone enchanted books. Give them the enchanted book you want to duplicate plus 10 experience points, of course, nothing is free.
Archer: Want a natural hunter? Choose which animal you want to hunt. Select what you want to hunt. If you haven’t given your entity a trident, bow, or crossbow yet, they will receive a temporary bow.
Cleric: Hey, do you have zombie meat? Did you know that the cleric can use their magic to make it fresh again? Just right-click with the zombie meat while they are in work mode, and they will give you cured meat. They can also use potions in this mode and give potions to their humanoid companions.
To exit these modes, crouch (SNEAK) and interact. If they have inventory, empty it first in the archer and farmer, for example, or the work mode will not close.

Farming Details:
All seeds can be purchased from specific NPCs.
Crops take 3000 to 6000 seconds to grow.
Plants behave like bushes — right-click or use bone meal to harvest.
Get pregnant
This button lets you have a family. You need to have your first inventory slot empty; your partner will place the baby item there, which will be anchored until it grows enough. It takes approximately 15 minutes to reach 100%.
During this time, the baby may cry or get upset: maybe it’s hungry, so give it its bottle (see crafting recipe).
Or perhaps its pacifier broke; give it a new one (see crafting recipe).
If it cries or gets upset, it will temporarily stop growing, so rush to help!
Once it reaches 100%, you’ll be able to place it in the world and give it a name.
Want another player to be the baby's family member or make sure no one else tries dating your NPC child? Use the family register to make another player a relative of the baby. Giving bottles frequently will make it grow faster.
The family member will have access to the same special menu as the children.
Equip
Want to protect your NPC? Give them your best armor, sword, bow, or trident. Need to remove a tool? You’ll need to have an empty hand. Want to change a piece of armor? Click with another piece equipped.
To exit this mode, crouch (SNEAK) and interact.
Guardian Mode
Melee: Works with any tool—even none (though that doesn’t seem like a great idea).
Ranged: Requires a bow, crossbow, or trident.
In either mode, you can feed the entity to heal them. They will attack monsters except for creepers, and they will also attack any entity that you attack or that attacks them, except for other villagers or golems, as they are friends.
To exit, click on the entity and select "Turn off GM (Guardian Mode)". If you don’t want to stop guardian mode, simply press "Close."
Lost family member
Lost a family member? Use this locator, and all entities you’re related to will appear and be teleported to you.
This addon includes three distinct behavior versions:
Golden: The standard version we covered above.
Diamond: This version allows you, if you have friends, to interact with other players. After reaching 50 points with a player, you can marry them and have children. This version uses , so it may not be compatible with other addons that modify .player.jsonplayer.json
Divorce
To get divorced, craft or buy the divorce item. Use it by interacting with it.
If the entity you married is alive, it's recommended to use the item near them. If they are dead, use it alone.
Guards (Knights / Guardians)
Guards are non-interactable villagers whose main job is to protect the village. They were added after many community requests — we hope you're happy now!
Behavior:
They attack all hostile mobs except Creepers.
If you hit them, they will turn on you. And trust us — you don’t want that.
Don’t even try to kill them — they have a lot of health.
When angry, they’ll put on a helmet so you can tell they’re in combat mode.
If one gets mad at you, just walk away and wait until they calm down before coming close again.
They’re strong, relentless, and they remember. Be smart — don’t pick a fight with a guard.
It brings several fixes, quality improvements, and 4 new jobs. I hope you enjoy it.
Thank you for your high ratings. I hope this update helps ease any frustrations or complaints. I’m available to fix any bugs that may appear, but I will not be adding more content for a long time. I hope this version can earn a better rating on MCPEDL.
I say goodbye. It has been 3 or 4 wonderful years, but I prefer to continue with new projects.
Note: My retirement from the project does not mean it has become open source. I retain full rights over it. You may modify it for personal use only, but uploading or redistributing any altered version is not allowed. Thank you very much.
New Jobs
Cartographer:
The cartographer can explore and bring items for you if you give them an empty map and 4 experience levels.
Has missions associated with maps.
Toolsmith:
Automatically repairs all durability-based items in your inventory, one point every 3 seconds.
Has missions related to tools and minerals.
Fisherman:
Can fish for you as long as there is at least 6 blocks of water around them.
Will catch something every 40 seconds; it can be a fish or a treasure.
Has missions related to fishing.
Shepherd:
Changes the color of a nearby sheep, shears its wool, and makes it regrow.
Has missions related to wool.
Administrator Settings
Allows you to customize many options of the addon. This way, complaints like “it’s too fast” or “it takes too long” are avoided. Everything is completely up to you!
Gender Player The admin can send a gender change form to a player or to themselves. The player can then change their gender if they chose incorrectly or feel differently on a given day. Note: Gender never affects NPC relationships. The only difference is visual, and NPCs are unaffected.
Change Family Title The admin can send a family title change form to a player or to themselves. This controls what your child NPCs call you—Mom, Dad, Teacher, They, etc. This is completely independent of gender: you can be female and still have your children call you Dad. You can also create your own custom family title, like Boss or Captain.
Pregnancy Cooldown Don’t want to wait 24 hours to have another baby? You can change it! Keep in mind this is based on real-world time, not in-game time.
Baby Growth Time Don’t like 15 minutes? You can make growth happen in 1 minute or extend it up to 40 minutes.
Marriages Don’t like monogamy? You can now increase the number of spouses per player, up to a maximum of 10.
Popularity Want to increase, decrease, or reset popularity points to 0? Use this option to adjust them as you like.
Killed NPCs Want to see which NPCs you’ve killed? This option shows all NPCs you’ve eliminated in survival mode.
Helped NPCs If you’ve ever helped an NPC by completing a mission, you can now see exactly who you helped.
Reset Followers Use this if your followers are bugged and you want to remove all NPC followers. For emergency use only.
Appearance
NPCs now reflect their physical traits: tall, short, slim, or fat will be visible in their model.
Previously, NPCs were divided into male or female, each with roughly 20 different appearance variations.
Now, each gender is divided into:
25 upper clothing options
25 lower clothing options
25 skin colors or patterns
25 hairstyles
This results in 390,625 possible combinations per gender.
You can still modify the skin.png files with your own designs, but they must be separated correctly.
Quality Improvements
Divorce
Using the divorce item now opens a screen where you can choose to divorce a player or an NPC.
If your spouse is dead and your marriage was not removed due to a bug, using the item will delete the marriage tag without any penalties.
Family Record
You now need to use it in the air, then select the family member, the player to affect, and the family title you want them to have (Uncle, Aunt, Cousin, Dad, etc.).
The Barber – Barber Station
Use the barber station to change your NPC’s skin, hair, upper clothing, or lower clothing to any of the available styles. Customize and create your favorite combination for your NPC.
To use:
Mount an entity and command it to sit on the barber chair.
Right-click to change the style, and hit to switch the part you want to customize.
To remove the NPC from the chair, crouch and interact.
To remove the chair itself, hit it while it’s empty.
Bad News
If you try to use this addon v2 with a world that uses v1, there may be issues, and NPCs will have default skins in v1 because several new attributes do not exist there.
Unexpected bugs and errors may also occur.
Translations into Russian, Japanese, and Indonesian are currently suspended, so they may not work correctly and some dialogues may appear in English.
Dialogues
Previously, dialogues worked by selecting a number from 1 to 10, calculating success or failure, and showing a dialogue for each interaction.
Now, there are 20 different dialogues for each personality per interaction, increasing the total from roughly 80 to 6,433 unique dialogues!
