How to Travel

How to Travel

To enter Ethercraft, you must journey through the Nether and find Quartz.

With 5 blocks of Quartz, you can craft the 

Quartz Portal Frame (Block)

Build a portal the same way you would a standard Nether portal, and light it with fire.

Once inside, you'll need to wait 5 to 10 minutes for the dimension to finish generating.

After that, you'll be able to travel back and forth quickly and freely, and your friends can join you too. Don't forget to bring extra quartz for your return trip — or you'll be stranded! You've been warned.

The Combat System

You'll quickly notice that your vanilla weapons — or any weapon from outside this world — barely scratch these creatures. That's because of the magical barrier protecting this dimension, which reduces your damage output to just 25%.

Luckily, you can craft Ethercraft weapons that let you strike with 100% damage! Of course, you'll have to start over from wood, then stone, before reaching the magical Etherite — but it's all part of the new challenge.

You'll also be able to craft Anti-Gravity Arrows and the Bow of Athena, letting you pierce through the barrier in ways normal arrows never could!

But beware — that same magical barrier doesn't protect you. It doesn't matter if you're wearing full Netherite armor; it won't shield you from the damage these hostile creatures deal.

So gear up with Ether Stone Armor, Etherite Armor, or Etherite Armor enhanced with Leviathan Scales — only this armor will protect you from harm.

You can tell you're dealing damage by watching for defense particles falling downward. If you see them rising instead, it means you're not using the right Ethercraft weapons.

Items

Ethercraft is packed with items — most can be found naturally in the world or obtained by hunting mobs.

Some special items require crafting, and you'll need their recipes first. Most of these recipes can be traded from the Dethermons — goat-like demons who dwell beneath the temple.

Collect them all!

Entities

Alicorn
A horse with a horn and wings — what more could you want? You can equip it with a saddle and armor to trot or fly. To switch between trotting and flying, you'll need the Master Horn, dropped by Dethermons upon death.

They can drop feathers and unicorn feathers, useful for crafting Ether arrows, as well as their powerful horn for crafting the Bow of Athena. The higher your Looting enchantment, the greater the chance of a drop!

Angel Pig
Angel Pigs can be tamed with green Betherries. You can equip them with a saddle and fly. They're neutral and drop feathers and pork upon death. They come in three variants!

Angelfish
Fish that can be eaten in-game! The Axovulpus absolutely love them.

Axovulpus
Is it a fox? An axolotl? Maybe it's our brand — turned into an in-game entity you can admire. On death, it rarely drops its tail, along with plenty of its fur, which can be used to craft the Axovulpus Plushie or new bed sheets.

Bighaired Chicken
A green chicken with an afro. You can enjoy its green eggs for breakfast.

Cathorns
Cats with horns. They drop fragments used to craft their incredible lamps. They can be tamed with Angelfish.

Chlamydosaurus Flower
Beware of these lizards — they inhabit the Withered Biome and came to life from malevolent flowers. They'll bite without hesitation. Their scales can spread the Withered Biome if used to prepare their magical gel.

Detheer
Deer that defy gravity with their helix antlers, allowing them to fly. They're blue and adorable. Their valuable little wings could get you out of a tight spot — craft them into a parachute, or try their meat instead.

Dethermon
Goat demons that dwell beneath the temple. They thrive in extreme heat, though even they can perish in lava. They enjoy eating Lava Goo and collecting Snailava Shells, the rare seashells left behind by the mysterious Snailava creatures. These shells are not just treasures — they are the Dethermon's currency.

Bring them Snailava Shells and trade with these fiery demons to obtain valuable items from their underground kingdom. In exchange, they may offer ancient recipes, rare materials, fire resistance potions, dark pearls, magma stones, enchanted arrows, and other treasures hidden beneath the temple.

Be careful — Dethermon are aggressive toward anything they dislike, including humans. However, defeating one may reward you with a Dethermon Stone Mask, which hides your presence and prevents them from attacking you while worn. They fight using bows or their powerful furry hands.

Fire Butterfly
Drops fire-related items. They're hostile and shoot fire — take them down as fast as possible!

Habbirns
White rabbits with horns. They drop horned meat and fur, which can be crafted into fabulous new modern rugs.

Leviathan
Ironically, this flying lizard is rare and hostile. Its scales and fangs will help boost your magical power.

Scrub Creeper

Spawns in the Withered Biome. They're timid and will hide inside their flower if you get close, spitting pure venom. Upon death, they leave behind their withered flower, which can be healed with a bit of fertilizer and water.

This will give birth to a friendly Scrub Creeper turret — tame it with fertilizer. Interact with it to cycle through its attack modes: on the first interaction it will attack players and monsters, on the second it will only attack monsters, and on the third our little friend shuts down. Remember, it's still shy, so keep it away from monsters — it's a ranged attacker.

Skelether
Angels of death that fire arrows from the sky, capable of killing you quickly. They drop bones and cold bones, used to craft cold bone meal, which Ethercraft plants require.

Snailava
Lava snails hunted for their valuable shells and tasty slime. Have you tried it yet?

Space Jellyfish
Come out at night and purify the soul. They're bioluminescent, but sunlight damages them. You can extract glowing jelly from them, which cleanses the Withered Biome and paints the Overworld with Ethercraft — though to extract their jelly, you'll need to craft a Jelly Container first.

Stompfools
Guardians of caves and temples. They're extremely powerful — proceed with caution.

Tuatara
Friendly lizards that can be tamed with Bighaired Chicken eggs or spider eyes. Breed them to obtain unique color mutations: yellow, blue, green, and purple.

Wardgma
Neutral lava golems that carry a spear. Be careful in the Burnt Biome.

Zombiether
Cold, hostile zombies with more health than usual.

Quartz Fish
A majestic fish that drops Quartz upon death — perfect for stocking up before your next trip through the portal.

Special Mechanics

Bed Sheets
Right-click or interact with a vanilla bed to place a fabulous sheet on top, with designs like King, Creeper, Enderman, or Axovulpus. Remove it by breaking the bed.

Gels
Use Glowing Jelly Gel or Withered Gel to spread the Withered Biome or the Ether Biome by interacting with blocks.

Ether Respawn Anchor
Every time you enter the portal, if you have an active Ether Respawn Anchor, you'll appear there. It also lets you respawn in the Ether after dying. Recharge it with Withered Shard Clusters, up to 4 charges.

Dark Pearls
Dark Pearls let you open a personal entry portal and a personal exit portal. This way, if you miss your throw, you won't be teleported immediately — you can try again. Throw one where you want to enter, then another where you want to exit.

Drooling Eyes
Drooling Eyes are peculiar creatures that dwell in the Ether dimension, constantly dripping a sticky, viscous substance onto Ether Stone Bricks. Over time, these drippings leave behind stubborn impurities that stain the bricks with their residue. Using Shears, players can carefully extract these impurities from the floor without damaging the blocks beneath. The extracted material can then be used to craft Jelly Containers, forge Dark Pearls, or simply be placed as decorative stains to give your builds a unique, weathered look.

Soft Extractor
Lets you remove soft things, like clouds.

Master Horn
Play it to command your Alicorn to trot or fly.

Cloudy Parachute
Use it while falling to slow your descent. It has limited uses.

Etherite Ore
A block that, when broken, has a high chance of dropping Raw Oxidized Copper, which you can use to craft oxidized copper items — and sometimes, with a 30% chance, magical Etherite. Mine plenty of it, and with luck you'll end up with either lots of Etherite or lots of Oxidized Copper, whichever comes first.

Scrub Flower
To get your own friendly Scrub Creeper, you'll need to purify its flower: first Creeper Fertilizer, then a Water Bottle, then Fertilizer again, then Water Bottle again — and so on until it turns white and a friendly Scrub Creeper is born.

Cold Bone Meal

Cold Bone Meal is a special fertilizer dropped by Skelethers and Zombiethers. When ground from their frozen bones, it becomes the only substance that can nourish and grow Ether plants.

Biomes

Ether Biome – A beautiful biome where most mobs make their home. It's green, purple, and blue—truly a sight to behold. Here you will find a little bit of everything.

Withered Biome – A corruption that is slowly spreading across the world. Be careful—it's much more dangerous!

Burnt Biome – What happens when a cave becomes scorching hot. Mini-infernos are born here, with lava, hellish fissures, and stalactites scattered throughout.

Temple

Here you will find challenges with test chambers, multiple reward vaults, and at the very top, its boss awaits. Be careful—only awaken it if you dare.

Boss

Long ago, this creature was peaceful, but it became corrupted and was imprisoned in the form of a block, trapped in an eternal slumber. Break its block to awaken it. Defeat its first phase to unleash its true form. Upon death, it drops the recipe for Amber Goddess Arrows, a large amount of experience, and fragments to revive it. If no player is nearby, it will revert back to its block form.

Remember, my friend, that this is a Beta version, since the dimension feature is not yet official. Therefore, you will need to enable the following experimental features:

Generation

First, a main island will be generated. This process takes between 5 to 10 minutes. After that, you will be able to enter the dimension quickly.

If you travel beyond the main island, you will find mini-islands to explore.

Recipes

To craft some items, you will need to discover their recipes first. For example, the Magma Spear recipe can be obtained by trading with Dethermon, while the Amber Arrows, the most powerful arrows in the game, can be obtained by defeating the Bossether.

When you obtain a recipe item, its recipe will be automatically unlocked in the crafting table. After unlocking it, you can consume the recipe item to gain free experience points.

Update 1.02

Smithing Template Upgrades

You can obtain special smithing templates from Dethermon to upgrade your equipment. Use them to enhance your Etherite armor with scales, strengthen your weapons with Leviathan fangs, or craft Cloudy Boots, which allow you to bounce back into the air after falling from certain heights.
