What's new
Nazarick Seasons v0.6.x โ Thirst, Hydration & Dynamic Weather Update
This update represents the next major step in Nazarick Seasons after v0.5.5, expanding the survival ecosystem with hydration mechanics, portable water storage, new drinks, improved temperature balancing, more responsive extreme heat, dynamic weather transitions and expanded localization.
The existing Seasons, Climate, Thermal Survival, Agriculture, Time Engine and Difficulty systems remain fully integrated.
๐ง NEW โ Thirst System
A complete Thirst System has been introduced.
Players now need to manage hydration as part of normal Survival gameplay alongside:
-
Health;
-
Hunger;
-
Temperature;
-
Environmental exposure.
Hydration gradually decreases over time and is stored individually for each player.
The new system is integrated with the existing Nazarick Seasons environmental mechanics, allowing climate and temperature to become increasingly relevant to water management.
๐ก๏ธ Thirst & Environment Integration
Hydration is not designed as an isolated bar.
The Thirst System is integrated into the wider environmental simulation.
Hot conditions can make hydration more important, including situations such as:
-
Summer;
-
Hot biomes;
-
High environmental temperatures;
-
Extreme climate conditions;
-
Long exploration sessions.
This creates another survival connection:
Season โ Climate โ Temperature โ Hydration โ Survival
๐ง NEW โ Thirst HUD Bar
A dedicated thirst indicator has been added to the Minecraft HUD.
The new bar provides a visual representation of the player's current hydration level while maintaining the visual language of Minecraft's existing Survival interface.
HUD Improvements
-
Added dedicated thirst display;
-
Improved integration with the Vanilla HUD;
-
Adjusted positioning to avoid excessive overlap with other interface elements;
-
Moved the thirst indicator slightly lower for improved visual separation;
-
Improved visibility logic according to hydration state.
๐ Thirst Bar Visibility Fix
Fixed an issue where the thirst bar could incorrectly disappear after hydration dropped below approximately 95%.
The HUD state logic has been corrected so the bar can properly respond when the player begins losing hydration.
The system remains designed to avoid unnecessary visual clutter when hydration is not relevant while becoming visible when the player actually needs to monitor thirst.
๐ผ NEW โ Canteen
A new Canteen has been introduced as a portable hydration tool.
The canteen is designed for players preparing for:
-
Long-distance exploration;
-
Mining;
-
Desert travel;
-
Summer;
-
Extreme heat;
-
Remote bases;
-
Long journeys away from natural water sources.
The canteen can store multiple portions of water instead of functioning as a single-use drink.
Canteen Capacity
The current design supports:
4 servings of water
This allows players to carry a reusable hydration resource without filling their entire inventory with individual bottles.
๐ฆ Canteen Interaction
The canteen system includes interactions for storing and consuming water.
Its remaining water amount can be tracked by the addon, allowing the item to behave as reusable survival equipment rather than a normal consumable.
The canteen mechanics have also received additional interaction checks and refinements during the v0.6.x development cycle.
๐๏ธ Placeable Canteen
The canteen system includes support for placing the canteen in the world as a visual object.
The interaction is designed around crouching/sneaking to distinguish placement from normal drinking behavior.
This feature has received additional checks and adjustments to improve interaction reliability.
The goal is to allow the canteen to function both as practical equipment and as part of camps, shelters and exploration setups.
๐ง NEW โ Juices & Drinks
Hydration has been expanded beyond simple water.
New custom beverages have been introduced to give farming and food resources additional survival value.
Examples include fruit-based drinks such as:
-
๐ Watermelon Juice;
-
๐ Apple Juice;
-
Additional hydration beverages supported by the new drink system.
Drinks can restore hydration and provide alternatives to carrying only water.
๐จ Updated Juice Textures
The visual assets for the new juices have received additional revisions.
Drink textures were replaced/refined to better match:
-
Minecraft inventory scale;
-
The Nazarick Seasons visual identity;
-
Other Survival items;
-
Pixel-art readability.
This improves visual consistency between custom drinks and Vanilla inventory items.
๐ Hydrating Foods
Certain foods with naturally high water content can also contribute to hydration.
This gives items such as fruit an additional Survival purpose.
The goal is to create multiple ways to manage thirst:
Water โ Canteen โ Drinks โ Hydrating Food
instead of forcing players into one single hydration method.
๐ก๏ธ Temperature Rebalancing
The environmental temperature calculation received another balancing pass.
The base temperature calculation has been increased by approximately:
+5ยฐC
This adjustment helps better align displayed temperatures and thermal behavior with the intended environmental experience.
Existing factors remain part of the calculation, including:
-
Season;
-
Biome;
-
Time;
-
Weather;
-
Altitude;
-
Difficulty;
-
Climate events;
-
Shelter;
-
Water;
-
Heat sources;
-
Thermal equipment.
๐ฅ Improved Lava Heat
Lava is now significantly more responsive as an extreme environmental heat source.
Remaining close to lava increases thermal danger more quickly than before.
Changes include:
-
Faster heat accumulation near lava;
-
More responsive thermal exposure;
-
Faster progression toward dangerous heat conditions;
-
Quicker temperature-related consequences during prolonged exposure.
Players no longer need to physically touch lava for it to become an environmental threat.
Standing beside a lava lake in full Summer gear should now feel appropriately questionable.
๐ก๏ธ Faster Extreme Heat Response
Thermal damage behavior around extreme heat sources has also been adjusted.
The time between reaching dangerous environmental conditions and experiencing their consequences has been reduced in relevant situations.
The objective is to make obvious extreme heat sources feel dangerous while still preserving the gradual thermal-stress philosophy of Nazarick Seasons.
๐ค๏ธ NEW โ Dynamic Weather During the Day
Weather behavior has been expanded beyond a single static condition lasting through an entire Minecraft day.
Weather can now evolve during the day.
For example:
Clear Morning
โ
Increasing Clouds
โ
Afternoon Rain
โ
Evening Clearing
This allows individual days to feel more natural and less predetermined.
๐ฆ๏ธ More Natural Climate Variation
Weather changes continue to respect the broader Nazarick Seasons climate system.
Transitions can interact with:
-
Season;
-
Biome;
-
Current climate profile;
-
Temperature;
-
Regional conditions;
-
Environmental difficulty.
This means weather variation is intended to feel connected to the world rather than purely random.
A tropical region may develop afternoon rainfall while a dry region remains much more resistant to precipitation.
๐ด Regional Climate Preserved
Existing biome-specific climate behavior remains active.
Jungles
Can experience:
-
Tropical fog;
-
Humid atmosphere;
-
Rain;
-
Storm conditions.
Swamps
Can experience:
-
Regional fog;
-
High humidity;
-
Dense atmospheric conditions.
Deserts & Badlands
Can experience:
-
Sandstorms;
-
Dry climate;
-
Reduced visibility;
-
Extreme heat.
Cold Regions
Can experience:
-
Snow;
-
Blizzards;
-

๐ Expanded Localization
The localization system has received another major expansion.
Previously supported languages remain available:
-
๐ง๐ท Portuguese โ Brazil;
-
๐บ๐ธ English โ US;
-
๐ช๐ธ Spanish โ Spain.
New localization support has now been expanded for:
-
๐ฒ๐ฝ Spanish โ Mexico (es-MX)
This improves accessibility for Latin American Spanish-speaking players.
๐ฒ๐ฝ Spanish โ Mexico Support
Localization compatibility now accounts specifically for the es-MX language variant used by Minecraft Bedrock.
This helps prevent players using Mexican Spanish from falling back to untranslated strings or another language unnecessarily.
Newer systems such as hydration and related UI elements are also being integrated into the localization structure.
๐ NEW โ Language Selection Menu
Players now receive more control over the language used by Nazarick Seasons.
A new language option has been added to the addon menu.
This allows users to select a supported Nazarick Seasons language directly through the interface rather than depending exclusively on external configuration.
Supported language options include the localization profiles available in the addon.
๐ฅ๏ธ HUD Improvements
The HUD continues to receive visual refinements following the major redesign introduced in v0.5.5.
The new hydration system required additional interface work to preserve the compact philosophy of Nazarick Seasons.
Improvements include:
-
Better thirst-bar positioning;
-
Improved hydration-state visibility;
-
Reduced unnecessary HUD clutter;
-
Better coexistence between thirst and environmental information;
-
Continued support for thermal warnings;
-
Continued support for multiple simultaneous environmental states.
The v0.5.5 HUD already introduced the more compact vertical structure and simultaneous thermal/status warnings, which remain part of the current system.
โ ๏ธ Environmental Alerts Preserved
Existing warnings remain available, including:
-
โ๏ธ Cold;
-
๐ฅถ Intense Cold;
-
๐ฅ Heat;
-
๐ก๏ธ Overheating;
-
๐ง Wet;
-
๐ Sheltered;
-
๐ฅ Warming;
-
๐ง Cooling.
Hydration information now joins this environmental feedback system.
โ๏ธ Existing Difficulty System Preserved
All environmental difficulty presets remain active.
๐ฟ Normal
Balanced environmental Survival.
๐ฅ Hard
Stronger thermal pressure, climate events and environmental danger.
โ ๏ธ Hardcore โ Dying World
Severe climate instability, extreme temperatures and harsher Survival.
Difficulty continues to influence systems such as:
-
Temperature;
-
Climate;
-
Agriculture;
-
Extreme events;
-
Recovery;
-
Wildfire risk.
โฑ๏ธ Time Engine Preserved
The protected Time Engine introduced in the previous development cycle remains active.
Nazarick Seasons continues to use its safer absolute timeline architecture instead of continuously forcing setTimeOfDay.
Existing protections remain, including:
-
Time Authority Guard;
-
Clock-drift detection;
-
Compatibility Mode;
-
Existing-world calendar migration;
-
Optional world-day synchronization.
The v0.5.4 engine was specifically redesigned to prevent Vanilla day-counter and Moon-phase acceleration while allowing fallback when other addons control time.
๐ Existing World Support Preserved
Updating from previous Nazarick Seasons versions preserves the internal seasonal calendar.
New installations in old Vanilla worlds continue to start with an independent Nazarick calendar rather than automatically inheriting thousands of previously played days.
Optional synchronization remains available through:
/seasons:syncworldday
โจ Vibrant Visuals Compatibility Preserved
The Resource Pack continues to maintain compatibility-focused support for Minecraft Bedrock Vibrant Visuals.
Nazarick Seasons continues to rely primarily on:
-
Fog;
-
Weather;
-
Particles;
-
Visibility changes;
-
Seasonal daylight;
-
Regional atmosphere;
rather than replacing Minecraft's modern rendering pipeline.
