Description

Hey guys, Racing Raftaar here again. I am back with another incredibly useful add-on for your survival worlds. Have you ever been exploring a massive cave system or fighting in a dense jungle biome, and you just cannot see where the skeletons or creepers are hiding? Or maybe you are playing on a multiplayer server with your friends, and you are trying to point out a rare mob like a pink sheep or a dangerous boss, but they just cannot figure out what you are looking at. Communication in vanilla Minecraft can be a bit difficult when things get chaotic. That is why I decided to create the RR Mob Ping add-on. I took inspiration from modern battle royale and shooter games where you can just press a button to ping an enemy for your whole team to see. I thought, why not bring that exact same mechanic into Minecraft?

The Ping Mechanic

The core system of this pack is built around a custom targeting script that I wrote. Everything runs smoothly in the background through the main script file located in the scripts folder. To use the ping feature, I wanted to keep it as simple and vanilla friendly as possible. You do not need to craft any weird new items or type long commands in the chat. All you have to do is look directly at a mob, whether it is a hostile monster or a passive animal, and just sneak. Instantly, the script calculates your line of sight and places a highly visible ping marker right above the mob.

Visuals and Tracking

When a mob is successfully pinged, it gets a glowing highlight and a custom particle effect that lasts for about ten seconds. This means even if the mob runs behind a tree, digs into a hole, or tries to hide in tall grass, you and everyone else on your server will be able to see exactly where it is. It is an absolute game changer for hunting down annoying phantoms at night or keeping track of an enderman who keeps teleporting away from you during a fight.

Multiplayer Benefits

While this pack is great for single player, it truly shines when you are playing on a realm or an SMP with your friends. Because the scripts are fully synchronized, when you ping a mob, a sound effect plays, and a chat message appears saying that you have spotted a target. Your friends will immediately see your ping marker on their screens as well. It makes coordinating attacks on woodland mansions, ocean monuments, or pillager outposts so much more tactical and fun. I structured the entire pack carefully with a proper manifest file to make sure there are no multiplayer sync issues or server lag.

Beta APIs Setup

Because the line of sight calculation and the custom particle rendering rely heavily on the new scripting engine, you absolutely must enable the Beta APIs experiment in your world settings. Before you load your world, go into the experiments menu and toggle it on. If you forget to do this, the scripts will fail to load, and your ping ability will not work at all.

AI Disclaimer

I want to give my usual heads up to the community regarding the visual presentation of this download page. The main thumbnail and the gallery screenshots you see above have been upscaled and enhanced using AI image generators. I do this because I want the CurseForge page to look as clean and professional as possible.
