Inspired by Beta Minecraft and mods like Mo' Creatures, CocoaWarrior's Minecraft Redone (or MineRe) brings back the danger of the night with lots of new monsters and changes to vanilla mobs. 

 

MineRe is a full survival update and rebalance pack. It introduces 2 bosses, 11 animals, 21 monsters, updates stats of vanilla mobs, adds 8 new dungeons, throwable bombs, 6 magical staffs, 7 magic swords, introduces light vs heavy armor, reworks armor protection, rebalances villager trading, and more!

Health and Armor Changes

*All options below can be toggled:

Health Regeneration

  • Health regeneration is now half speed and double hunger cost
  • Eating soups, stews, milk, and potion/water bottles will heal extra hearts

Armor Curve

  • Armor curve is changed such that the first few points give more protection
  • This roughly increases the effective health of a full set of Leather armor from ~1.15x to ~1.5x, depending on armor penetration
  • Armor with full armor bars is unaffected
  • Iron armor is given armor toughness

Armor Weight

  • Player base movement speed is 105% vanilla speed
  • Wearing heavy armor slows player down 2.5% per piece
  • With a full set of heavy armor, players move at 95% vanilla speed
  • Leather, Chainmail, and Enderon armor are light armor
  • All other armor is heavy armor

Protection Nerf

  • The Protection enchantment gives diminishing damage resistance the more it is stacked
  • Specialized Protection enchantments are unaffected
  • 4x Protection IV gives 40% damage resistance instead of 64%
  • 3x Protection IV and 1x Projectile Protection will give 36% resistance to all attacks and 80% resistance to Projectiles.
  • 2x Protection IV, 1x Projectile Protection, and 1x Blast Protection will give 28% resistance to all attacks and 64% resistance to projectiles and explosions.

 

World/Ore Generation

  • Extra diamond ore from 1.20.3 is reduced by 40%. 1.18 generation is not affected
  • Additional emerald ore generates from Y=-63 to Y=48 with uniform distribution in all biomes.
  • Sulfur Ore, which drops gunpowder, generates under Deserts, Swamps, and Jungles between Y=24 and Y=90.
  • Amethyst Ore generates under snow biomes from Y=-63 to Y=40.
  • Nether Coal ore generates in the upper levels of the nether.
  • Enderon Ore and Ender Plasma Ore generate in the End.
  • Patches of sand and sandstone can generate under deserts.
  • Andesite, diorite, and granite generation is reduced by 40%.
  • New "Ice Caves" biome generates under snow biomes.

Amethyst Ore

Generates under snow biomes from (Y=-63 to Y=40)

Drops 1-2 +(0-1)/fortune Amethyst Shard, 1-3 XP

Sulfur Ore

Generates under Desert, Swamp, and Jungle biomes from (Y=-16 to Y=70)

Drops 1-2 +(0-1)/fortune Gunpowder, 0-2 XP

Nether Coal Ore

Generates in the Nether at all levels, most common at Y=98

Drops 1 + (0-1)/fortune Nether Coal

Nether coal can be used to smelt 16 items or to craft 8 torches. It's an excellent fuel for the Auto Miner

 

Indigon Ore

Drops "Raw Indigon" when broken

Indigon can be used to craft tools and armor that give effects in certain situations

 

Basalt Iron Ore

Generates in the Basalt Deltas, most common at Y=64

Drops (2-6) + (0-2)/fortune Iron Nugget

 

Enderon Ore

Generates in the outer End Islands, most common at Y=16

Drops 1 +(0-1)/fortune Enderon Gemstone, 2-6 XP

Enderon Gemstones can be used to craft Teleporter blocks, Enderon Tools/Armor, and the Blaster Staff

They can also be smelted into Enderpearls

Ender Plasma Ore

Generates in the outer End islands, most common at Y=16

Drops 1-2 +(0-1)/fortune Ender Plasma, 0-3 XP

Ender Plasma can be used as fuel in a furnace

It is also used as ammunition for the Blaster Staff

Ender Plasma can be used to craft the following items: Phased Ender Pearl, Plasma Ball, Pulsar

Treecapitators

  • Craftable tree-capitators
  • Can be used in the off-hand
  • Work on all trees, giant mushrooms, and nether trees
  • Can be enchanted
  • Work on 2x2 trees and big oak trees

Teleporter

Redstone component that teleports nearby entities in the direction it is pointing.

Teleports farther if adjacent to Enderon Blocks

Monkeys have 6 personality types 17 animations, and 8 skins

Normal monkeys have no animation preference and play all animations

Friendly monkeys will come up to you and prefer to clap and laugh

Angry monkeys prefer to beat their chest and will attack if you attack one or another monkey

Fearful monkeys run from players and like to cry

Playful monkeys like to handstand and move and jump more often

Lazy monkeys are slow, don't jump often, and prefer to lay down


Monkeys can be tamed with watermelon slices and bred with glistering melon

Brown, Orange, gray, and black monkeys spawn commonly in the Jungle

Blue and White monkeys can only spawn above Y=100

To obtain Green, Crimson, Teal, or Purple monkeys, breed them in the Lush Caves, Crimson Forest, Warped Forest, or the End

Elephants can be found in savannas and tamed with apples

They are neutral and will get aggressive if you get close to their babies

They can be stood on like the Happy Ghast

Elephant can be told to attack by right clicking the elephant while riding it with an empty hand, stick, or bone

They can be bred with Golden Apples and armor can be crafted with 3 blocks and 3 ingots

 

Owl

  • Spawns in Forests at night
  • Can be tamed with raw meat
  • Health: 10

 

Eagle

 

  • Spawns in all biomes (except frozen biomes) above Y=100
  • Can spawn on surface anywhere in Extreme Hills, Mesa, Mountain, and River biomes
  • Attacks rabbits, squirrels, chickens, armadillos, undead, and spiders.
  • Avoids creepers and ogres
  • Health 20, attack 6

 

Squirrel

  • Ambient mob found in forest, taiga, and plains
  • Attacked by Foxes, Wolves, and Eagles
  • Drops Acorns
  • Can be bred with acorns or seeds
  • Health 6

Gremlin

  • Neutral creature that breaks torches (can be disabled)
  • Some are scared of players
  • Most are scared of carved pumpkins and soul fire
  • Spawns in all dimensions
  • Drops coal (black), potatoes (cyan), beetroot (purple)
  • Spawns in 3 sizes with varying stats and drops
  • Spawns in the deepslate layer, Warped Forest, and outer End islands
  • Health: 10 (small), 18 (medium), 36 (large)
  • Attack: 3-4 (small), 5-6 (medium), 6-7 (large)

 

Goblin

  • Neutral mob that spawns in big groups, but somewhat rare
  • Can barter with Emeralds, Diamonds, or Blubber
  • Can spawn as a Goblin Trader with a chest on their back
  • Become hostile if you break valuable ores near them
  • Can carry melee weapons, bows, crossbows, and bombs
  • Can spawn with armor
  • Hunt Deer and Gremlins
  • Hostile to Ogres
  • Health: 14 (brown), 16 (blue, purple)
  • Attack: 1 + weapon damage

 

Yeti

  • Spawns in cold, frozen, mountain, and taiga biomes at night
  • Hostile at night, but neutral during the day
  • Neutral if the player wears 2 or more pieces of Leather armor
  • Can go berserk when attacked. When berserk they run on four limbs.
  • Can climb walls
  • Launch target on attack
  • Can start leaping around when angered
  • Scared of fire
  • Can be tamed with meat when neutral
  • Tamed yetis are friendly and attack monsters
  • Health: 100, Attack: 7

 

Freeze

  • Spawns in cold and frozen biomes on ice, packed ice, or blue ice
  • Attacks using ice breath
  • Ice breath gives +2 slowness for each hit, capped at 8
  • Only receive +1 slowness if wearing Leather Chestplate
  • Ice breath can freeze player in a block of ice or place powdered snow on their location
  • Blocks created by freeze automatically cleanup
  • Takes damage when in sunlight or in a warm biome
  • Takes damage from water

Health: 32

Attack: 4, (+2 slowness/8s)

 

Ogre

  • Spawns in all overworld biomes at night except desert and snow/cold/frozen biomes
  • Hostile at night and neutral during the day
  • Can berserk and start running faster for a short time
  • Attacks disable shields like Axe
  • Has an AOE roar attack
  • Hostile towards Goblins and Demons
  • Can spawn as a larger and stronger "Cave Ogre" variant deep underground
  • Health: 120 (green), 150 (cave ogre)
  • Attack: 7-10 (green), 8-12 (cave ogre)

 

Dire Wolf

  • Fast, hostile mob that spawns in forest, taiga, and grove at night
  • Attacks players, wolves, villagers, and foxes
  • Alternates between running circles around the target and attacking
  • Digs into the ground and despawns in the sunlight
  • Health: 40, Attack: 6

 

Lizord

  • Fireball shooting giant lizard that spawns deep underground
  • Will use a melee attack if player gets close
  • Takes extra damage from explosives
  • Health: 70
  • Attack: 7-9 (melee), 8 + power 1 explosion (fireball)

 

Monster Bat

  • Hostile bat mob that spawns underground and at night
  • Turns into a regular bat if exposed to sunlight
  • Gives Hunger for 4s on attack
  • Can perch like vanilla bats
  • Health: 10
  • Attack: 2-3 + Hunger I (4s)

 

Biter

  • Hostile fish mob that spawns at night
  • Spawns in 3 sizes with varying stats and drops
  • Health: 6 (small), 12 (medium), 18 (large)
  • Attack: 1-2 (small), 3-4 (medium), 5-6 (large)

 

Web Spider

  • Large white spider that shoots webs when close
  • Gives weakness and has knockback resistance
  • Health: 36
  • Attack: 7 + Weakness I (6s)

 

Scorpion

  • Hostile mob that spawns in deserts, mesa, and savanna
  • Similar behavior to Spiders. but slower
  • Has 75% knockback resistance
  • Health: 30
  • Attack: 5 + Poison/10s

 

Stomp

A 2x2 block that leaps to attack

Spawns in Desert, Mesa, Soulsand Valley, and the outer End Islands

Health: 36, Attack: 8

Drops: 2-4 (sand/red_sand/end_sand), 2-4 (sandstone/red_sandstone/end_stone), 1 Eye of Ender (end stomp only)

 

Vampire

 

  • Strong, fast hostile mob that spawns underground
  • Regains health on attack
  • Takes extra damage from Gold weapons
  • Can transform into a bat when attacked and low on health
  • Alternates between flying and grounded movement
  • More common in dripstone caves
  • Health: 36
  • Attack: 6-7 + 10s Hunger I

 

Necromancer

Hostile mob that summons other monsters

Can summon Zombie, Skeleton, Demon Skull, Ghost, and Evoker Fangs

Can teleport like Enderman

Health: 28
Drops: 0-1 Bottle o' Enchanting, 0-1 Enderpearl

 

Queen Bee

Generates in Giant Beehives underground

Is hostile and summons regular bees

Health: 30

Attack: 4 + Poison/5s

Ghost

  • Spawns rarely in the deepslate layer
  • Spawns in the soulsand valley
  • Can phase through walls
  • Disappears if it touches light
  • Health: 14, Attack: 6

 

Demon

  • Large hostile mob that spawns in the Nether
  • Wields a pitchfork for ranged melee attack
  • Has an AOE roar attack that also casts fire
  • Can summon demon skulls
  • Neutral if player wears full gold armor
  • Spawns in Nether Wastes, Crimson Forest, and Soulsand Valley
  • Health: 100, Attack: 7-11

 

Demon Skull

  • Small, flying hostile mob, similar to Monster Bat
  • Spawns in Soulsand Valley and can be summoned by Demons
  • Health: 6, Attack: 3

 

Netherzord

  • Larger, stronger variant of the Lizord
  • Shoots 3 fireballs which arc with gravity and cannot be reflected
  • Spawns in Nether Wastes and Basalt Delta
  • Health: 100
  • Attack: 9 (melee), 8 + power 1 explosion (fireball)

 

Walker

  • Giant, two legged walkers that blast their enemies with their plasma cannon
  • Kick enemies that get close
  • Emerge out of the ground on spawn
  • Most are hostile, but can rarely spawn as a friendly purple variant
  • Can be reprogrammed with Ender Eyes to become friendly
  • Friendly walkers can be repaired with End Stone and End Bricks
  • Friendly walkers follow players holding Ender Eyes
  • Drops Ender Plasma, Enderon Gemstone, End Stone, Gunpowder, and Ender Eyes
  • Health: 150
  • Attack: 11 (kick), 10 + power 1.75 explosion - (plasma cannon)

 

Cosmic Jelly

  • Giant, floating jellyfish that shoots ender plasma balls
  • Attacks leave lingering clouds similar to the Ender Dragon
  • Attacks can be collected to obtain Dragon's Breath
  • Spawns in the outer end islands
  • Drops Ender Plasma, and Slime
  • Health: 20
  • Damage Resistance to Projectiles: 66%

 

Ender Phantom

  • Giant, living variant of the Phantom that spawns in the End
  • Can spawn on the central island when the dragon is alive
  • Can also spawn in the outer islands
  • Can teleport the player on hit
  • Drops ender pearls and phantom membranes
  • Spawns in multiple sizes with varying stats and drops
  • Health: 28 (normal), 38 (big)
  • Attack: 8 (normal), 11 (big)

 

Bosses

Inferno

Fiery boss of the Nether Fortress

 

Abilities:

1. Spin attack - spins rapidly and charges the player

2. Fireball attack - shoots 3 large fireballs while strafing

3. Push attack - pulls shield together then pushes them out, launching player away

4. Teleport - teleports with a trail of fire

5. Summons Blaze

6. Blue fireball - shoots a single blue fireball that removes Fire Resistance

    If you reflect the Blue Fireball into inferno, it will be stunned for a short time

 

Inferno can be stunned by Ice Charges, Ice Dagger, Ice Bombs, or any of the other Ice weapons

 

Where to find the Inferno:


Found in the Nether Fortress

Player must be over level 15 for it to spawn

Hold an "Inferno Totem" to increase the spawn chance or an "Inferno Ward" to prevent it from spawning

Inferno is more likely to spawn if you are a higher level

Where to find Glacier:


Spawns on top of any kind of ice in cold and frozen biomes

Player must be level 15 for it to spawn

Hold a Glacier totem to increase it's spawn chance, or a Glacier Ward to keep it from spawning

 

Drops:

 

Ice Pick, Ice Staff, Ice Dagger, Enchanted Book, Elixir of Experience, Ice Charges, Diamonds, and Blue Ice

 

 

 

Vanilla Mob Changes

  • Hostile mobs see 24 blocks away
  • Zombies move 20% faster when chasing a target
  • Zombie damage increased 3 -> 5
  • Baby zombies do not receive these buffs
  • Spiders move 40% faster when chasing a target
  • Spider damage increased 2 -> 4
  • Skeletons shoot from up to 15 blocks away, but their arrows are slower.
  • Skeletons can strafe like on Java edition.
  • Skeleton removed rapid fire ability.
  • Most animals have been given meat, leather, or other drops
  • Inventory added to Horses and Camels
  • Donkey, Mule, and Llama have increased inventory size
  • Most hostile mobs attack villagers
  • Drowned no longer spawn during the day outside of the deep ocean
  • Zombie and Skeleton horses are now hostile mobs and will spawn at night and burn during the day
  • Ghast fireballs are 25% faster and they have 50% damage resistance vs projectiles
  • Phantoms can spawn in multiple sizes with increasing health and damage. Normal phantom health reduced to 16.
  • Endermen and the Ender Dragon can teleport their target on hit.
  • Wolves move faster when chasing a target and do more damage.
  • Tamed Cats and Wolves can be told to wander freely by using a bone or string on them.
  • The Creaking has a 50% chance to give the Wither effect for 4s on attack.

Desert Dungeon

  • Generates under deserts, beach, and warm ocean
  • Contains a Husk spawner
  • There may be a trap
  • The Dune armor trim can also be found here

 

Ice Dungeon

  • Found under Cold and Frozen biomes
  • Contains a Stray spawner
  • The Ice Dagger and Amethyst Staff can be found here

 

Wild Dungeon

  • Generates under Jungles and Swamps
  • Contains a Spider Spawner and a Bogged Spawner
  • Contains poison arrow and bomb traps
  • The Venomshank and Wild Armor Trim can be found here

 

Mesa Dungeon

  • Generates under Mesa
  • Contains a Creeper Spawner
  • There may be a trap
  • The Raiser and Shaper armor trims can be found here

 

Ice Castle

  • Generates under Cold and Frozen Biomes (except Frozen Ocean)
  • Can generate exposed to the surface or fully submerged
  • Contains Freeze spawners, a Stray spawner, and Yetis
  • Ores and chests can be found buried behind ice blocks

 

Wither Pyramid

  • Large dungeon of Netherbrick
  • Generates on the ceiling of the Soulsand Valley and Nether Wastes
  • Contains a boss-fight room where you can summon the Wither

 

Illager Hideout

  • 3 Floor dungeon that generates underground in all biomes
  • Is more common under the roofed forest
  • Is guaranteed to generate with a Woodland Explorer map in one of the chests

 

Giant Beehive

  • Giant beehives generate in any biome where bees can spawn
  • Can generate underground or exposed to the surface
  • More common in Lush Caves and under Jungles and Swamps
  • Inside you will find Queen Bees
  • Queen Bees are hostile, spawn angry bees, and drop Royal Jelly

 

End Temple

  • Temple found in the End
  • Inside there is an end portal buried in the sand
  • If completed, it takes you back to the Overworld
  • Contains an Endermite spawner
  • A few Shulkers spawn on the roof
  • The Illumina and enchanted books can be found here

 

End Generation

Adds new blocks such as End Sand and End Crystalline

Pulsars can be seen in the background as stars. They can be mined for Ender Plasma.

 

End Craters can generate with a meteorite of Obsidian and Crying Obsidian

Amethyst Staff

  • Shoots Amethyst Shards
  • Generate a shield barrier when used with sneak
  • The shield barrier generates blocks and gives Regeneration

Echo Staff

  • Shoot the Warden's sonic blast
  • Consumes XP
  • Turn into a shadow with many effects and particles when used with sneak

Fire Staff

  • Shoot small fireballs using fire charges
  • Generate rings of fire and get temporary fire resistance when used with sneak

Blaster Staff

  • Shoots powerful plasma blasts using Ender Plasma

 

Magical Swords

Venomshank

  • Sword that gives Poison II for 10s
  • Can be found in Wild Dungeon, Jungle Temple, or bought from Goblin traders
  • Repaired with Iron Ingots
  • Attack: 6, Durability: 900

Ice Dagger

 

  • Dagger with the ability to encase enemies in ice (similar to Freeze's attack)
  • Gives slowness to enemies.
  • Can be found in Ice Dungeon or Ice Castle, or bought from Goblin traders.
  • Repaired with Blue Ice
  • Attack: 3, Durability: 200

Illumina

  • Sword with the ability to grant levitation for a brief time
  • Similar to a double jump
  • Can be found in Trial Chambers, End Cities, and End Temples
  • Repaired with Diamonds or Amethyst
  • Attack: 7, Durability: 1400

Windforce

  • Launches enemies and can shoot wind charges
  • Found in Trial Chambers
  • Repaired with Breeze Rods
  • Attack: 7, Durability: 1280

Firebrand

  • Lights enemies on fire and can shoot ghast fireballs
  • Found in Nether Fortress
  • Attack: 7, Durability: 1280
  • Repaired with Blaze Rods
  • Enchant with Fire Aspect to increase fireball speed

Darkheart

  • Lifesteal against living enemies
  • Found in the Wither Pyramid
  • Attack: 14, Durability: 5000
  • Repaired with Netherite Ingot
  • Can not be enchanted

Ghostwalker

  • Found in the Ancient City
  • Can grant invisbility, jump boost, and slow falling
  • Levels up as you defeat monsters or players
  • Repaired with Echo shards

Ice Charge

  • Throwable ice projectile
  • Gives slowness and can encase enemies in ice
  • Freezes water into ice, lava into obsidian, and fire into air
  • Dropped by Freeze
  • Can be found in Ice Castle and Ice Dungeon

Bombs

  • Throwable bombs crafted with 3 leather, 5 gunpowder, and 1 string for 4 bombs
  • Hold to throw farther
  • Same explosive power as a Creeper, but double damage to entities
  • Can be wielded by Goblins
  • Can be upgraded to a Fire Bomb

Phased Ender Pearl

  • Upgraded Ender Pearl that teleports the user instantly in a straight line for 10-20 blocks
  • Can teleport through walls and into walls
  • Does not deal fall damage
  • Teleports farther when user is wearing Enderon armor
  • When used on a mount, the mount teleports with you
  • The pearl is consumed 50% of the time it is used

Enderon Gemstone

  • Found in Enderon Ore in the the End
  • Used to craft and repair Enderon Tools and Armor
  • Used to craft and repair the Blaster Staff
  • Used to craft Teleporter

Enderon Tools

  • Enderon tools have the same mining speed as gold with 80% the durability of Diamond
  • Enderon Tools perform an "Ender Strike" when attacking. The Ender Strike does additional damage to the target and multiple nearby mobs of the same type. Ender Strike has a 4-6s cooldown depending on the tool

 

Enderon Armor

  • Lightweight armor set with the same protection as diamond, ~80% the durability of the diamond, 0 armor toughness, but greater mobility
  • Enderon Armor also increases the distance teleported using phased ender pearls

 

Ender Plasma

Ender Plasma

  • Found in Ender Plasma Ore in the End and dropped by Cosmic Jelly and Walker
  • Used to craft Plasma Ball, Pulsar, and Phased Ender Pearl
  • Can be used as fuel in a furnace
  • Used as ammunition for the Blaster Staff

Vanilla Balancing Changes

Diamond Ore Generation is slightly reduced. The extra generation from 1.20.3 is reduced by 40%, but 1.18 generation is unchanged. There are more diamonds than in 1.18, but less than 1.20.3.

 

Netherite Upgrade Templates and Armor Trims are found in larger stack sizes or are found more often. 

All templates are cheaper to duplicate.

 

Villager Trade Rebalance

  • Villager Diamond Gear trades require 5-6 diamond shards per diamond in the item
  • Villager book trades require a unique secondary item for each trade
  • Librarians get an extra book trade for the first and last levels.

Mending - Echo Shards

Efficiency, Sharpness, Projectile Protection, and others - Lapis Lazuli

Silk Touch - Gold Ingots

Fortune - Diamonds

Structure Loot

  • Added extra pool with Mending books and Echo Shards to the Ancient City.
  • Added extra pool with Mending books to the Woodland Mansion.
  • Mending Books are also common in End Temples.
  • Removed Horse Armor from most structures. It is now craftable.
  • Added Bombs, Potions, and other items to several structures.
  • Heavy Core drops more often.
  • Armor trims and upgrade templates are found in larger stacks.

Debugging tip!

MineRe changes a lot of files, but most changes are changing stats and other behaviors. Let other add-ons overwrite MineRe and put it at the bottom of your load order.
