Fishing Expansion: Lucky Waters v4 is a survival-friendly Minecraft Bedrock fishing addon that makes fishing deeper, more rewarding, and more collectible while still feeling close to vanilla Minecraft.
IMPORTANT DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS
This CurseForge release is split into TWO separate files:

You must download BOTH files separately. The Behavior Pack contains the gameplay systems, fishing logic, items, recipes, loot, functions, and scripts. The Resource Pack contains the textures, item icons, localization, and custom particles. If you only install one file, the addon will not work correctly.

WHAT THIS ADDON ADDS
Lucky Waters adds a full fishing expansion with exactly 30 new fish, 3 custom luck-based fishing rods, cooked fish variants, useful food effects, custom particles, a timing-based fishing minigame, survival recipes, testing functions, and polished item icons.
The goal is simple: make fishing feel worth doing. You can craft better rods, fish near water, wait for a bite, play a quick reel timing minigame, and catch new fish across common, uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary tiers.
CUSTOM FISHING RODS
This addon adds three custom rods:
Copper Luck Rod
Early-game upgraded rod. It has a copper/orange style and gives a small improvement to better fish chances. It is the first step in the Lucky Waters progression.
Golden Luck Rod
Mid-game lucky rod. It gives better odds for uncommon and rare fish, with a small improvement toward epic catches. It is more expensive than copper and is built for players who want better fishing rewards.
Crystal Luck Rod
Late-game best rod. It gives the highest chance for rare, epic, and legendary catches while still keeping legendary fish rare and exciting. It has a crystal-blue style and is the strongest fishing progression item in the addon.
The rods do not act like weapons, spell staffs, guns, tridents, or teleport tools. Their purpose is fishing luck and fishing progression.
FISHING MINIGAME
Lucky Waters uses a scripted fishing system so the custom rods can actually affect fishing luck. When you use a custom rod near water, the addon starts a fishing attempt. After a short wait, a bite appears and you use the rod again during the timing window to reel the fish in.
Good timing gives a better catch result. Bad timing can snap the line. This makes fishing more active than vanilla without turning it into something overcomplicated.
CUSTOM PARTICLES
The addon includes safe custom Lucky Waters particles for casting, bites, and rare catches. These replace the broken vanilla-style splash/crit particle calls from earlier versions and avoid the Molang direction errors.
FISH RARITIES
The 30 fish are divided into five tiers:
Common Fish
River Minnow, Mud Carp, Pebble Perch, Silver Sardine, Moss Trout, Bluefin Guppy
Uncommon Fish
Amber Koi, Crimson Bass, Frostscale Herring, Jungle Piranha, Glowfin Guppy, Sandbar Flounder
Rare Fish
Crystalfin, Shadow Eel, Moonlight Salmon, Ironjaw Catfish, Stormscale Tuna, Emerald Pike
Epic Fish
Lavafin Snapper, Abyssal Angler, Phantom Jellyfish, Golden Reef Koi, Ancient Coelacanth, Prism Betta
Legendary Fish
Dragonwhisker Eel, Ember Crownfish, Voidscale Fish, Royal Leviathan Fry, Celestial Starfish, Dreamscale Oracle Fish
Common fish are easy to catch and mostly work as simple food. Rare and epic fish become more exciting because they provide stronger food value or temporary positive effects. Legendary fish are trophy-level catches with powerful but temporary effects.
FOOD EFFECTS
Some fish give positive effects when eaten. Effects are temporary and balanced so they do not replace potions completely.
Absorption fish include Crystalfin, Ironjaw Catfish, and Royal Leviathan Fry.
Regeneration fish include Moonlight Salmon, Emerald Pike, and Celestial Starfish.
Speed fish include Shadow Eel, Stormscale Tuna, and Prism Betta.
Dreamscale Oracle Fish gives a special combination of Absorption, Regeneration, and Speed.
Other fish can provide useful effects such as Night Vision, Water Breathing, Fire Resistance, Slow Falling, Resistance, or Strength depending on rarity.
COOKING
Lucky Waters includes cooked variants for selected fish. Cooked fish restore more hunger than raw fish and some cooked special fish keep balanced weaker effects.
Cooked variants include:
Cooked River Minnow
Cooked Mud Carp
Cooked Moss Trout
Cooked Crimson Bass
Cooked Frostscale Herring
Cooked Ironjaw Catfish
Cooked Stormscale Tuna
Cooked Lavafin Snapper
Cooked Golden Reef Koi
Cooked Ancient Coelacanth
Cooking recipes are included for furnace, smoker, and campfire where supported.
SURVIVAL PROGRESSION
The addon is balanced for normal survival worlds.
Copper Luck Rod is the early upgrade.
Golden Luck Rod is the mid-game luck upgrade.
Crystal Luck Rod is the late-game best rod.
Better rods improve the chance of better catches, but they do not guarantee rare or legendary fish. You can still catch common fish with the Crystal Luck Rod, and legendary fish are still meant to feel special.
FUNCTIONS
The addon includes testing functions for players, creators, and server owners:
/function lucky_waters/help
/function lucky_waters/give_rods
/function lucky_waters/give_all_fish
/function lucky_waters/give_common_fish
/function lucky_waters/give_uncommon_fish
/function lucky_waters/give_rare_fish
/function lucky_waters/give_epic_fish
/function lucky_waters/give_legendary_fish
/function lucky_waters/test_effect_fish
/function lucky_waters/debug_status
Use the help function in-game for a quick explanation of the addon.
MULTIPLAYER SUPPORT
Lucky Waters is designed so each player has separate fishing state and cooldowns. One player fishing should not give another player a catch. Fish effects apply only to the player who eats the fish. Rod luck is based on the rod the player is actually using.
PERFORMANCE
This addon focuses on fish items, rods, loot, recipes, functions, particles, and scripted fishing. It does not add 30 fish mobs or constant world scanning, which keeps it much lighter for normal worlds and multiplayer.
VERSION NOTES
v4 removes the old broken particle calls that caused Molang errors with water_splash and basic_crit particles. It uses Lucky Waters custom particles instead.
