Guac Organizer

Guac Organizer puts a messy inventory or chest back in order. Partial stacks of the same item are combined. Names, lore, enchantments, and durability stay on the items. The hotbar is left where it is.

Craft an Organizer at a crafting table with one chest and one book. In your inventory it appears as a pixel-art Sorting Wand. Select it and hold it like a tool — a 3D wand with a wood handle, gold claw, cyan gem, and spark particles.

Sort a container

Look at a chest, trapped chest, barrel, shulker box, chest boat, or chest minecart. Select the Organizer and press use while looking at one of those containers. The container is sorted and does not open.

Interact with the container without the Organizer selected to open it normally. Sneak is left alone, so hoppers and other blocks can still be placed against chests.

Sort your inventory

Select the Organizer and press use while you are not looking at a container. Slots 1–8 of the hotbar stay where they are. The rest of the inventory is stacked and sorted. The 9th hotbar slot is part of the hotbar and is left alone.

A short message appears on the action bar when a sort finishes. Sorting a chest also shows one of several rotating one-liners.

Sort order

Items are grouped, and each group is alphabetical:

1. Logs, including stripped logs, bark blocks, and stems
2. Planks
3. Sticks
4. Wooden items, including doors, fences, boats, chests, and wooden tools
5. Stone, including cobblestone, deepslate, stone tools, and furnaces
6. Ores, including raw iron, gold, and copper
7. Ingots, then nuggets
8. Iron, gold, and copper items
9. Gems, then items made from them
10. Netherite gear
11. Vegetation, including saplings, leaves, flowers, and crops
12. Dirt and sand, food, mob drops, potions, and everything else.

Left alone

Furnaces, smokers, blast furnaces, hoppers, droppers, dispensers, brewing stands, crafters, and ender chests are not sorted.

Requirements

Minecraft Bedrock 1.26.20 or newer. The addon is a behavior pack and a resource pack. Activate both on the world. No experimental gameplay or Beta APIs toggle is required. Accept the resource pack when joining so the Sorting Wand icon and held model appear.
