Disclaimer for Origins Mod fans: this is NOT a port. GenesisRPG is an original add-on inspired by the Origins style — 15 completely unique character origins, each designed from scratch with their own 4 signature abilities (basic, movement, secondary, ultimate). Some mechanics had to be adapted to fit Bedrock's scripting API limitations, but the goal was always to keep each origin distinct, balanced, and fun.

15 Unique Origins

Every origin has a distinct identity, role, and combat style:

Common (high spawn rate): Fireborn · Waterborn · Shadow · Frostborn · Earthborn · Lightning · Beast
Uncommon: Windwalker · Specter · Angel · Demon
Rare: Titan · Symbiote · Chaos
Legendary (5 % spawn rate): Demigod

Origins are rolled randomly on first spawn with weighted probabilities. Use /function chance to see your exact odds.

4 Ability Slots per Origin = 60 Unique Abilities

Each ability has its own mana cost, cooldown, visual effects, and cinematic cast moment.

Example — Windwalker kit:

Basic: Gust (wind cone knockback + damage)
Movement: Wind Glide (5 s controlled flight)
Secondary: Jet Stream (15 b wind highway — allies gain Speed V + Jump Boost II)
Ultimate: Sky Sovereign (20 s 3D directional flight + AOE damage)
Passive: Double Jump (release + press jump mid-air)

Skill Trees (NEW in 0.9.0)

Earn Essence by fighting — kill mobs, bosses, or players — and spend it on branching skill trees that reshape how each ability plays:

Every ability has 3 distinct paths (choose one, lock it in) with 3 upgrade tiers each (R1 → R2 → R3 capstone).
Two Lightning players can feel totally different: one blinks across the map (Velocity), another rains bolts from a storm cloud (Storm).
A universal Progression tree (Mana Well, Swift Recovery, Essence Hunter) buffs every origin.
Re-spec anytime with a Nether Star.

Available now for Lightning, Shadow, and Beast (3 origins × 12 paths × 3 tiers). The other 12 origins get their trees over the 0.9.x updates.

Custom Blocks & Entities

genesisrpg:holy_step — Angel walks on water. Animated flipbook block with subtle holy aura, transparent like water.
genesisrpg:ice_shard — Frostborn custom projectile entity with zero gravity and hitscan-rapid travel.
genesisrpg:lightning_anchor — Lightning Form's tappable teleport anchor entity — tap it to blink where you look.
genesisrpg:scent_marker — Beast Predator's Scent (True-sight path): a through-walls target marker using an isolated see-through material (doesn't affect any other rendering).
Player entity override — engine-level per-player fall immunity for Windwalker (via damage_sensor + tag).

Passive Abilities (Always Active)

Windwalker — Double Jump: Release jump button mid-air, press again to launch upward. Phantom flap sound + smoke ring particles.
Angel — Holy Step: Walk on water surface. Custom blocks form under your feet, melt back to water after 1.5 s.

Trust System

/function trust — manage your trusted allies
Friendly fire protection (abilities skip trusted players)
Per-ability ally / foe split (Sanctify buffs allies, debuffs foes)

Legacy fallback — old /scriptevent genesisrpg:<cmd> commands still work for compatibility with worlds created before V0.7.6.

🎮 How to Play

Spawn in a new world → language picker appears → choose
Origin auto-rolls (weighted RNG) with cinematic announcement
Pick up your Ability Trigger (yellow lightning item) from inventory
Click for Basic, double-click for Movement, sneak combos for Secondary / Ultimate
Craft a Menu Book (1× dirt block) — opens full UI with origin info, trust management, settings
Type /gr: in chat for autocomplete-driven admin commands, or /gr:help for full command list

🛡️ BETA Notice — Known Issues (v0.9.0)

This is v0.9.0 BETA. Core combat, abilities, damage paths, and the new skill tree are stable after many patch iterations of real-world testing. The following are known and being worked on — please don't open duplicate reports for these:

🐞 Known bugs / limitations

Skill trees cover 3 origins so far — Lightning, Shadow, and Beast are fully wired. The other 12 origins can open the tree and buy their universal Progression nodes, but per-ability paths are still being rolled out across 0.9.x.
Shadow Smoke decoy — the dark decoy figure (Vanish → Smoke path) currently renders only for the Shadow who cast it, not for other players. Being investigated for the next patch.
Symbiote Full Possession (ultimate) — controlled mob does not transmit your input as designed. Caster invisibility + resistance layer works, but the full "you ARE the mob" position-sync didn't make it in yet. Functions more like a stealth + summon hybrid for now.
Beast Predator's Scent — the base marker + the Weakening/Pack Hunt paths use the vanilla glowing effect, which is unreliable through walls on non-player mobs. The dedicated True-sight path fixes this with a custom through-walls marker entity — pick that path if you want reliable X-ray tracking.
Necklace slot / Achievements / bosses / dungeons — designed only, not in code yet.

🟡 Bedrock-specific quirks

Some ability visuals (particles, glowing outlines) render slightly differently on mobile vs PC vs console — particle level can be tuned per-player via /gr:particle_set.
Mountain Call (Earthborn ultimate) requires open sky above caster — building inside caves may produce truncated pillars.

Tested on ≤10 player servers. Larger groups may need particle level tuning.

Download GenesisRPG-v0.9.0.mcaddon
Open with Minecraft (or import via Settings → Storage → Import)
Create new world OR enable both packs (Behavior + Resource) on existing world
Enable Beta APIs + Holiday Creator Features in world settings
Launch world — language picker will appear on first spawn

Custom blocks/entities and 60 ability designs are original works. The damage_sensor per-player tag pattern (used for fall immunity + Symbiote control explosion immunity) is inspired by OriginsBE's fox origin technique — credit to that community. The customCommandRegistry slash command pattern (V0.7.6+) is also modelled after OriginsBE's origins:setorigin style.
