Description
Whats up guys racing raftaar here back with another amazing add-on for you all. So i was playing my survival world the other day and i realized that the food system in minecraft is actually really boring. We have so many different types of crops and meats in the game like beetroot soup, baked potatoes, sweet berries and rabbit stew. But literally nobody ever crafts them or eats them because everyone just makes a cow farm and eats cooked beef for the whole game.
It makes all the other foods completely useless. I really wanted to change this and make farming different crops actually rewarding. So i created the RR Food Power addon. This pack completely changes how food works by giving you magical potion effects every time you eat a meal. It basically turns you into a superhero just by eating a balanced diet.
How The Food Effects Work
Let me explain the main feature of the pack. I mapped out like 30 different food items in the game to give you unique temporary buffs. For example if you eat a normal apple you will get night vision for 30 seconds. If you eat a golden carrot you actually get speed 2 which is super helpful for running away from mobs or travelling across the map.
I even made it so if you eat water based foods like melon slices or cooked cod and salmon you get water breathing. Imagine you are raiding an ocean monument and you run out of potions, you can literally just eat a cooked salmon and get 45 seconds of water breathing to survive and loot the place.
I also added effects for baked goods. Eating a cookie gives you a quick sugar rush with speed, and pumpkin pie gives you haste so you can mine blocks much faster. Even raw foods give you very small effects but cooked foods are way better. I also left some funny ones in there like eating a pufferfish gives you intense nausea and spider eyes give you poison but you guys probably knew that already.
The UI Menu And Book System
Now you are probably wondering how you are supposed to remember all these different effects for 30 different foods. Dont worry i thought about that while testing. When you first join your world you will automatically receive a custom named item called the Food Power book. If you hold this book in your hand and sneak it will open a really clean UI menu right on your screen. You dont have to remember or type any commands in the chat.

In this menu there is a Help section. If you click on it, it shows you the complete list of every single food item, what effect it gives and for exactly how many seconds. So you can always check it while you are playing or farming. There is also an About section to read and a Settings button but the settings are coming in the next update.
Leaderboard And Stats Tracking
I also really love adding competition to my addons especially if you are playing on a multiplayer realm or SMP with your friends. So I added a tracking system into the background. The game secretly tracks exactly how many special foods you have eaten in your lifetime on that server. Inside the book menu there is a Leaderboard button.
If you click that it shows the top 5 food eaters on the whole server and their exact scores. It is super fun to just sit at your base and eat hundreds of cookies and sweet berries just to beat your friend on the leaderboard and become the ultimate foodie. It gives you a weird but fun reason to actually build massive automatic farms for different crops instead of just relying on villagers for food.
Beta APIs Setup
Because this addon uses the background scripts to detect exactly when you finish eating an item and applies the potion effects automatically, plus the custom book menu UI, you absolutely have to turn on the Beta APIs experiment in your world settings.
If you dont turn it on the book menu wont pop up and eating food will just fill your hunger bar like normal vanilla minecraft and you wont get any cool effects. So please double check your experiments tab before you complain that it isnt working.
AI Disclaimer
Just a quick heads up for you guys about the visual stuff on this page. The main cover picture and the screenshots in the gallery were enhanced using ai image generators. I use ai to make the curseforge page look very cinematic and nice for you guys.
